Well, good for you. I guess I got someone who either misinterpreted the rules or you slipped through the cracks (although it seems that the crack is mile-wide based on how many people got through ). I'd appreciate if someone has something official from Chase that would dispute the exclusion based on a (very) old UA card.

I just read the last 5 pages or so of this thread and am completely confused.
My husband applied for and received the Continental Chase card last year. In February, he applied for and received, the Explorer card. He applied for it using the 60,000 promotion and was immediately approved. He received the card and started using it in March. He received his first statement and the miles based on purchases were posted to his United account. He didn't receive any bonus mileage. Do you think he will still get the bonus miles? His Continental card is still active. Any advice? |

Come on, so many of you now have the card - please help:
As Palaimo noted in post #823, both, the "normal" and "signature" VISA include the primary CDW; would someone be so kind and list what the coverage exactly includes (theexplorercard.com details section does not provide any info)? Thanks! |
Just a quick note on something that was probably noted earlier in this thread but deserves to be repeated: This card has a 3% fee on all foreign transactions - not only foreign currency transactions, but even charges in US$ from a foreign vendor.
This is my first Chase card, and I did not realize this when I appied. (But thank god I noticed before putting any foreign spend on the card). 3% is higher than all my other cards, including Amex. So be careful if you use this for any foreign charges, especially tickets or hotel rooms online where sometimes the charge will originate in the home country of the hotel, airlines, or booking engine. |

I'm waiting until later this month to apply, but after the first purchase, I really can't see why I'd use this card. Everything about the Sapphire Preferred is better than this card (for me, at least).

It rolled over into a United Card. She didn't get the 50K on her new (second) United card. Hopefully we can figure out a way to get the 50K for her. Any suggestions? |

Your AMEX - depends on what type of AMEX card you have - if it is an AMEX AMEX, you lose far more in the exchange rate used by AMEX. Chase has other cards that dont charge 3% forex fee - all Chase issued hotel affiliate cards dont. BA card does not, so as Chase's own Sapphire Preferred, to name a few. You, as the applicant, should pay attention to what the fee table is, on the card you apply. |
