You make a good point. I was thinking the same thing as I went through the steps. One of the final steps I took was when the 60,000 offer page came up; I clicked on that and directly from that page (with the "60" included in the URL) the application that I ended up filling out opened - so that seems like a pretty good indication that that application will be coded with the 60,000 offer.
I thought the answer was positive until yesterday I stumbled on a thread griping about Chase in Dans Deals Forum - someone said in he received a letter from Chase and was denied the bonus on his UA Explorer card gotten in Feb this year because he had a CO card last year. That has got me worried because we did have our CO card in March 2011 - they were canceled / exchanged to Marriott cards in Dec 2011. Our canceled CO cards only show as Generic United Card without the Explorer notation on Chase Online. |

Another question came to my mind - did anyone who had the Continental OnePass Plus card last year (prior July 2011) apply for this UA Explorer offer and still gotten the bonus?

I wish we got some of the amazing offers like last year, it has been a bit quiet compared to 2011

Even though I'm already a cardmember, I received new printed offers in the mail this weekend - the link they give in the printed mailer is:
http://www.theexplorercard.com/60bonus Expires May 31, 2012. |

After a lot of effort, I think I have gotten the 60,000 (50,000) sign on bonus after March 3rd while having a CO card that was converted to United.
I'm not sure if anyone else has been experiencing this, but when I would log into my United account, there wouldn't even be a banner to apply for the credit card. It's there before I log in, but not after. I didn't feel comfortable just applying to a random link, I felt like if I could get to the 60k offer through my United account that the points would post. The only way through my account that I could click on anything credit card related was through the "Products & Services" tab and then clicking "Get Credit Card." And this would just take me to an info page about the card (on chase's website), no apply now button. I'm guessing this was because their system knew that I already had one. I was able to apply for the 60k offer this way: 1. Clear cookies 2. Sign into my united account 3. Click links to view info about explorer card (this takes you to chase's website) 4. Sign into my wife's united account (she doesn't have the old continental card or new united one) 5. Click link to 40k offer (this takes you to chase's website) 6. Change address to 60k 7. Click apply 8. Form was pre-filled with my name and FF # not my wife's. I'm guessing this is due to going to chase's website first through my united account. I got the card Saturday, called to activate and rep confirmed 50k bonus on first purchase. |
My son got a 75K offer in the mail today! Same terms as 40 K offer, but an extra 35K for 10K spend in 6 mo. I just called Chase and they said that even though my son isn't 18 yet, he could still apply. Is that right? I triple checked that info with them, but they seemed pretty sure. I thought the general info on FT was that if you're under 18, no dice, but Chase seemed pretty certain.

Looks like the 60k page is back up and running again. App was down this weekend, so I applied for my mom (who thought the deal was over and wanted to apply) using the link posted upthread. I hope it's coded with the 60k. Took the screenshots, but even if not, I'm not too worried since the public (targeted) offer is still at 60k. I'm sure Chase will match it. Ironically, I received a mailing this weekend with the same link for the 60k offer (when I already have a UA card) Either way, I guess I now have a lot of 'screenshots" to show that it's a 60k offer. Good luck everyone!

I think you have to be 18 to apply for a credit application (or have a co-signer), but who knows, stranger things have happened.
Now, I'm really interested in that 75k offer... :)

I got the BA card from Chase in May, the Sapphire Pref in August, and In February I applied for the Freedom. I was denied for too many accounts with Chase so I closed the BA card to open the Freedom (since I wanted to use the 5x multiplier). I wonder what my chances of a UA approval are now (or in May before it expires).

or you could just use the post with the link for 60k right above your post. I just checked the link and it seems to be working. As soon as you see the screen it does say 60k offer.
When I click on that link it asks me to log into my united account. When I do it takes me to the info page about the card without an "apply" button. I'm guessing if I cleared cookies it wouldn't ask me to log in, but it's obvious to me that they're trying to keep people who already have the card from applying for another one. |
Is this the first 75K offer anyone has ever heard of?
