Even though I'm already a cardmember, I received new printed offers in the mail this weekend - the link they give in the printed mailer is:

Hello ,
I've been reading FT for two years. I've learned so much . Thought I would chime in with my experiance with the United card. I have the BA card, Priority Club and the Continental. I closed the Continental to get the Marriott card in Jan. this year. I received the United 60,000 mile offer in the mail last week and applied. I just got off the phone with Chase. I hadn't heard anything so I called. I was able to close the BA card and was approved for the United Plus Explorer! |
Club pass
I just got the two club passes today. Nice touch!

My son got a 75K offer in the mail today! Same terms as 40 K offer, but an extra 35K for 10K spend in 6 mo. I just called Chase and they said that even though my son isn't 18 yet, he could still apply. Is that right? I triple checked that info with them, but they seemed pretty sure. I thought the general info on FT was that if you're under 18, no dice, but Chase seemed pretty certain.
If Chase wants to issue a credit card to someone under 18, then that minor has no legal responsibility to pay the bill. I may be wrong on this, but this is from what I remember in college. I did get an A in the class. :D |

Comparing it to the sloppy packaging of the USAirways passes, United did right. The simplicity is appreciated. |
Does anyone have any issue with the first United Explorer statement closed more than 6 days ago and miles have still not yet posted? Here is my situation, I have had CO OnePass Plus over a year, paid annual fee in Jan. I also have had UA Select Visa over a year, paid annual fee in Jan, I applied and got approved the UA Exploreer on March 2 (using my old United MP number), first statement closed on March 20 with 50K bonus shown on the statement. The other two cards have miles posted on the same dates statements were closed (March 20), but Explorer hasn't yet posted.

Club Passes
Anybody have personal experience using the free United Club passes in Star Alliance Lounges? Conflicting information out there. Says here https://creditcards.chase.com/credit...edit-card.aspx that the passes are good for affiliated Star Alliances lounges but on the passes themselves it says United Club locations only. I want to try to use them at the Johannesburg SAA Boabab club.

Just to double check, holders of the OLD MP Visa still seem to be eligible for the bonus offer on the new one, right?
(Except that my friend who has the old one cannot ever see the 60K offer in his account) |
60K + $50 statement Credit
For those of you who are patient enough to surf on united for a while, I don't recall the exact steps, but I was searching for tickets and saw this banner:
Up to 60,000 Miles & a $50 statement credit Details: With this bonus offer you will qualify and receive 50,000 bonus miles and a $50 statement credit after your first use of the card. First use includes using your account for purchases or balance transfers, or using any checks that access your account; cash advances are not included. Needless to say, this was the best deal I've seen and jumped on it. Approved and will update all regarding confirmation of bonus at activation. |

Also I have applied for PC Visa (Jul 2011) & Sapphire Preferred (Jan 2012) in the last 1 year. So kinda fingers crossed. :-/ |

Thanks for the info. I just applied for the 60k bonus via my MP account (with 0 miles) and its currently pending. You think I can call them and ask to include this offer into mine ?

Link above doesn't seem to work for my wife, takes me to a screen that asks me to log in and it will presfill the app for me.
Only it doesn't take me to an app, it takes me to a regular United Mileage Plus screen. |
