When I called to activate my card the CSR said the two passes should be received within 6-8 weeks, then another set at anniversary date.

Very interested to know if this works, or if anyone else has had success getting the passes "expedited". I've got a trip coming up and these would be great to have...

Received email from Chase today:

Date: 02-21-2012 15:28:02
From: Credit Card Support
Subject: Re: Rewards Inquiry
Message:

Dear XXXXXXX

Thank you for contacting Chase about your Mileage Plus
Explorer credit card account.

I am pleased to confirm the two complimentary passes to
the United Club should be received within 8-12 weeks from
the account opening date which was in January 2012. You
will then receive the Club passes each year thereafter
within 2-4 weeks after the account anniversary date.
Please allow more time to receive your initial Club
passes.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Thank you,

Strangely enough, I forgot I opened an account for mom several years ago. She has less than 500 Miles and her miles are about to expire in 2 months. When I logged to her account, there was the 60k offer. But yet, I had to do the copy and paste when i applied no matter whether I transfer from UR, buy items, transfer between Continental/ United. My account never showed the 60k and I have sat on paid United Trips many times.

I'm in the same camp. If I click through United.com, I see the 60k offer, but the application page shows "your application is currently being processed" instead of "Apply" button. I did apply a month ago but got rejected due to holding the freedom card at the time, which I have since closed. This feels like a cookie type of problem, but I just can't get to the 60k application page.
Any help?

How do you know you were rejected due to holding the freedom card at the time? I would call the reconsideration line and ask what you need to do to have your old application reconsidered, or get a new application going. In fact I would call ASAP because I think if you ask for reconsideration within 30 days of your original application, they won't do another hard pull of your credit report.

Still haven't received my passes yet either. Was told 4-6 weeks.

Question: does "first bag for free" have any benefit if you are on an international flight, ie. you already have 1 complimentary checked bag?

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Uuaww!

You'll see that this happens to people sometimes. Just give it a few days and then call in. You don't have to wait the full two weeks, but let the system process your application and move it along before trying to call. When you want to call, look around the forums and you'll see the Chase reconsideration number. They'll help you figure out the status of your app. If you have the UMP Visa, you may want to offer to move credit from that card to the new one if that's an issue that is holding up approval.

Thanks, I called and it was an issue regarding my credit movement. So they apporved me. Now do I need to do anything with the UMP card before starting the explorer? I plan on keeping the explorer for a while. I should get in within a few weeks and then hopefully soon after get my 50k. There's no problems with the fact I had the UMP in using the explorer for the miles bonus right?

That's right. If you're worried you can call and confirm your bonus, but the reports here are that having the old UMP Visa does not affect this card/bonus.

I applied for the CO OnePass Plus card over a year ago and got the miles in my account. If I apply for the United Mileage Plus Explorer card before March 1 and put down my current United frequent flyer # on my application, will I have difficulty receiving the miles? (The new merged accounts will be based on Continental's numeration system and won't include the current United frequent flyer #)

My preference is to wait until some time after March 1 to apply, but then my concern would be whether or not I would receive the miles by entering my Continental frequent flyer # for a second time on an application (first time was for the OnePass Plus card).

How would you proceed?

I called in today to activate my card making a statement to the CSR that I noticed they are not putting the MP number on the new Explorer card like the old UA MP Visa. He said, that was purposefully done to help protect card users should they lose their card. My guess is this was done in preparation for the merged accounts knowing they'd have to convert everyone with a MP number to a OP number. Not having the old MP number on the card makes it much simpler to complete the task - one less thing to worry about since they don't have to reissue the card.

Also, as a data point, when activating my card the CSR confirmed my 50k bonus AND the 2 club passes that I should receive in 8-10 weeks. In addition, I will receive another 2 passes each year I renew the card. FWIW, my T&C's that came with the card made no mention of the initial club passes stating only that I'd receive them AFTER my first year anniversary.

Peace!

60K Bonus for existing Mileage Plus Select Card?

Hello, I am an existing holder of "United Mileage Plus Select Card". If I apply the trick as seen on post 321, I am able to pull up a page that mention 60K bonus miles.

However, when I went on to the Chase card application page, the 60K bonus was nowhere mentioned.

Has anyone with my situations able to get the 60K bonus?

Thanks!

applied for the card in October - received four passes

Applied for the card in October. Received two United club passes in December. Earlier this month, received two more passes. Must be a system error somewhere. I certainly don't mind!

I had reconsideration cancel my old MP Visa Signature and moved the CL from that one to the new Explorer. Approved!

Peace!

This is a good point and I'm concerned now as well - will the systems be smart enough to credit the points to the obsolete UA MileagePlan number, which then credits to the linked CO account?

Like you, I applied for the original CO card about a year ago, but since we both got the card before 7/19/2011 we should get both bonuses according to ThePointsGuy.
