I think it doesn't work for those who already have an UA visa

I have 5 other Chase cards including a CO OP card (applied March last year) and UA Visa. I applied for the Explorer card and got the 10 day message. Should I wait for the decision or speak to a credit analyst before that on my own

teammelli8080 Feb 7, 2012 6:17 pm

just to follow up on my situation: i applied for the 60k OnePass card fall of 2011, and got the 50,000 first-purchase miles. i applied for the 60k MileagePlus card recently, and just got another 50,000 miles. so then the terms and conditions regarding pre vs post-july may not apply in all cases.

Got my card today.

As I assumed (based on credit line), it is a "normal" visa (not signature).

The brochure that came with it includes mention of the PRIMARY CDW that some have been asking about, as well as all the other advertised benefits. One limitation on this benefit I was not aware of - coverage is only afforded for rentals up to 15 consecutive days when traveling in the US and 31 days abroad.

Also, the agent confirmed the 50,000 point bonus on the card.

Yes same here got the normal card. And the agent confirmed 50K with first purchase.

Also did I read it right? We should be getting 2 passes with in 6-8 weeks?

Our miles posted yesterday, yay!! Also have a Continental one pass that I just got charged the annual fee on. I called up to cancel and they transferred me to other line and asked me to reconsider with my choice of the following: $150.00 credit applied to statement, 12K miles, or 2 presidential club passes. I opted for $150.00 credit.:)

Yes. Mine arrive about 6-8 weeks after the card was opened.

I applied January 5th and got instant approval for the 50k offer. After using the card twice and the first billing cycle closing on Jan. 19, I didn't see the miles post.

After waiting about a week and not seeing anything post, I decided to change my billing cycle so that the due date going forward will be on the 1st of each month (as opposed to the 15th). I also decided to secure message inquiring about the bonus miles which I received a reply stating that it would post after the next billing cycle (on Feb. 19), which gave me affirmation that I will indeed receive the miles.

However, because I changed the due date to the 1st, the billing cycle ended Feb. 4th (two weeks earlier) and I saw that the miles posted on the 6th.

So if you want the miles sooner and can't wait for the billing cycle to close, consider changing the due date.

Wow, those are great offers. I just closed a OnePass Plus card two days ago also because of the annual fee but they didn't even offer me anything. :(

Thank you for the info. Hope I don't have a problem getting it. Anyone have a screen shot of that in case I don't get it so I have proof I can message them of the offer? But that's great you don't have to wait for the first anniversary.

Hi, Can someone please post the phone number from the 60k website? I can't get the site to show up...

pierre mclopez Feb 9, 2012 8:07 am

I followed the directions above and got the 60K screen. Problem is, I already took a 50K offer. Of well, anyway, I'll try to get a retroactive bump. If not, 50K is mighty fine!

I got this same offer, except option #2 was 15,000 miles. I really wanted the miles, but the cash came in more handy at the moment so I accepted that. Card paid for for another year. :)

Always ask to speak with someone in the Retention department. Then explain you like the card, but it's not really proving worth the annual fee and you're considering cancelling or downgrading to a no-fee version.
