Which would be better to get? A Chase Saphhire or the Chase Explorer card? I am thinking that if I get the explorer card (no minimum spend), I can move the minimum spend to a Citi Thank you points card. That way, I can get 50K from Chase and 50K from Citi. Any ideas / suggestions?
Thanks |

Data point........DW successfully applied for the CO Onepass 50k CC post July last year, miles posted. Applied for 60k United MP Explorer and successfully received the 50k bonus and miles for this have also now posted. Both cards are currently active. Not sure the July 17th (?) date is of much importance.........Jethro

Awesome!
I'm not sure what happened, because I've been trying this for weeks. But today, I got the 60k offer using the https://www.theexplorercard.com/MPYoureIn60kAFW.aspx link.
Here was my experience: 1) Some people were seeing the 60k offer in their UMP account. I never did. (I did, however, get targeted for the CO 60k even when I had 0 miles with CO). 2) Some people were able to get the 60k if they had at least 1 mile in their UMP account. I tried this for my wife, and it worked. I tried it for myself, no dice. For her, I logged in, copied the link above, and pasted it into the toolbar. Worked for her, not for me. 3) I tried #2 for myself a few more times. Still no dice. 4) Today, I logged into my UMP account in IE. Opened a new "Private" tab. Copied/pasted the link into the new tab. Viola! It worked. And it definitely saw the link to my UMP account, because some fields on the application were prepopulated. 5) Got a "pending" notification; I'll call Chase and move around some credit if I have to, but, great! |

I was just booking a reservation, and a "40k with $50 credit" popped up on the side, which I hadn't seen here. The link I ended up at was https://www.theexplorercard.com/MPIn....aspx?CELL=NV5 It's only 25k on first purchase, + 10k for $25k spend + 5k for adding an authorized user within 2 months. Still perfectly happy to have gotten the 60k :)

Should I apply for this card and Chase Ink at the same time? Do you think they'll care? The trick is to use two browsers at once right?

Curious about this too as I wanted to try for Sapphire Preferred & Explorer.

Got my first statement today- it says I have earned 50,007 miles with my 6.97 purchase. I have both the CO and United Explorer Card and previously had another United Card which I cancelled.
Now to wait for them to post. Thank you all. |

Thanks Crimson. I have some big purchases coming up, so might just go for the Sapphire and wait the 30-60 days for Explorer. I have all my eggs in AA and I want some UA miles for flights to Canada (city where there is no AA service).
