Applied for the card in October. Received two United club passes in December. Earlier this month, received two more passes. Must be a system error somewhere. I certainly don't mind!

Me and wife have received 8 passes since December. We had the Continental card which we had closed in late October. We were surprised to see 2 passes each in the mail in early December. Our accounts had been closed for over a month. I opened the Explorer card in mid December and my wife in early January (both 60K offer), and we got 2 more passes each earlier this month. Honestly we were not expecting any passes since we had no plans to ever renew any of the cards. Chase/United/Continental has been good to me and wife. We have each accumulated about 220K miles just from CC and debit card offers, and now extra lounge passes. Add to that we are both sitting on a combine 200K Chase UR points which we are considering converting to United miles.
I'm a Premier Executive status-matched from DL. Have flown twice and have been admitted in to the United Club at SFO and at EWR by showing my boarding passes. At EWR, they did ask if I had my Gold card. I did have United MP Visa and CO OnePass MC but didn't have to show them. Just showed the boarding passes and explained I was just status-matched. |

I have never used a pass, so maybe they do ask for a same day United boarding pass as a formality.

MileagePlus account number retiring
I'm still waiting for my bonus to post. Now that mp account number is retiring and one pass number will be the new number. Chase has my mp number. Will the bonus be posted without problem?

Is it a 60K card or an up to 60K offer?
Hey, Flyertalkers,
I applied for this card with miles in my UA account, and a 60K offer. So I thought. The account was approved on reconsideration, and after I agreed to cancel my old Continental card. (I have six other chase cards, for a total of seven.) The CR who activated the card volunteered that I would receive 50K after first use. 50K? Not bad, but not what I thought I'd applied for. She clarified that after $25K spending in the first year, I'd get another 10K miles. I can think of much better places to spend $25K. Did I misread the offer? Is there such a thing as a $60K Explorer offer out there? My screenshot unfortunately cut off that part of the page. The current offer looks just like the CR said it did: up to 60K. |
50K on the first use, another 10K if you charge $25K on it in the first year.

Not good enough!
Unless they make the card eligible to earn yearly EQM, like the ex Signature Card, it is not worth the pain.
A stinky one-time extra 20K miles won't cut it for me.... IMO the Explorer Card is a lousy deal, especially for those who have free baggage benefits from their Elite status! |

Welcome AirborneCattleCar! The United Explorer Card is a new card according to Chase so even if you have the older MP card you will still be able to get the sign on bonus. If you plan on applying for more Chase cards you can close your old MP card and transfer your credit line to your new card. If you go this route you will need to speak to a credit card analyst. If not everything will be automatic, and when you activate your card the chase rep will confirm your bonus.
Thanks for the info! My 50K bonus just posted as promised. My new card came with double the spending limit of my old one, and when I called them to close my old card, they just added the credit limit of the old one to the new one. I'm not sure why Chase thinks I need enough to buy a new Mustang on my credit card, but whatever :) |
How long for the 1st purchase 50k to post?

Mine posted when first statement closed. Assuming your first statement has not closed yet, I'd sit tight.
