Thanks for showing me the different numbers! I knew I had seen them here before but was having trouble finding them. Just called 1-800-945-2006 and was approved! I find it kind of funny it says "by now you should have received your welcome packet" even though I applied yesterday night (on a saturday).

They gave me a small-ish (4500) CL. I'm assuming that means I got the "platinum" rather than the "signature" card. I actually prefer this since the platinum card will report the limit rather than just the high balance, but I want to make sure most of the benefits are the same and the bonus is the same.

Does anyone know if the rental car CDW is still primary on the platinum card? That was one of the things I really liked about this card.

Yea I been trying to figure out the same thing. Please let me know if you find out if the benefits, and bonus is the same.

New card is showing in my chase.com account today, they gave me a 20k credit limit.

However I haven't received an email with the 50k bonus confirmation yet. Did you get that email right away or did it take a few days?

After I saw the new card on my chase.com account, it took about 2 days before I received the card in the mail (overnight delivery UPS) . Several days later, I received the email about the 50k miles after first purchase

How can we transfer 1 mile to my grandmother's account so that we can get her this deal? My sister has 70k miles. I only have 1k. I cannot figure out how to get her 1 mile besides having my sister transfer 2k (the minimum apparently) to her for $30. Anyone able to help??

If she has a CO OnePass account, you can link them and transfer 1 mile from it. If anyone you know has a Chase Sapphire Preferred, you can transfer 1000 UR points to her account, and these post more or less instantly. Other than that, transferring between accounts owned by different people come with a fee, as you've discovered.

Another option I'd suggest is sign her up for United MP Dining. They have a new member promo for 1000mi for a $50 dine. But ANY dine will give her some miles into her MP account (usually within about 2-3 weeks).

Biz Card Churn?

Is there any data yet on whether prior holders of a CO or UA biz card are eligible for a new bonus. The 7/11 date didn't seem to apply to the biz card.

I got the reply that they are reviewing my app. Is there any numbers I can call to find out if i'm approved or not more quickly? I called the automated numbers and I only get a response saying "your app is under review"

If you call and speak to an actual person, it's possible that they could review your app right then. Luck of the draw though.

If I applied and received the Freedom card in mid-December (after calling the reconsideration line), would I be best served to wait until closer to the Feb. 29 deadline to apply for this?

FWIW, I received the Freedom card in December and the Sapphire Preferred in August. Seems like I should be OK if I wait another month or so, but who knows.

It's a 50K offer. The extra 10K for $25,000 spend is good any year you have the card, i.e. it's a standard feature of the card. It's a crappy way to get 10,000 miles considering Barclays gives you 10,000 miles just for paying an annual fee every year.

If it was qualifying miles towards status, that would be worth it.

Delta SkyMiles Platinum Amex does just that, spend $25k and get 10K qualifying miles.

I would think you would have a good chance of getting approved. The posts here indicate that most applicants have been getting approved. And September (when you were last denied a card by Chase) is already quite a long time ago. You could apply, and even if you are not approved you could call the Chase "reconsideration line" to discuss with a representative ways that you might still be able to get yourself approved (for example, by closing another credit card you have with Chase).

As for noting the September denial on your application, I don't think they ask about such things, but if they do, then I would say answer honestly on your application.

I tried the same procedure again. Maybe in cases where applications have not yet been approved you now get routed to a representative; at least that's what's been happening today.

Note: Both application status lines (1-800-436-7927 and 1-800-945-2006) are now working again. You can call them to get an automated status report on your application.

Try 1-888-245-0625. There should be a credit analyst there. Not sure if they can help you with your question, but possibly they could.

I did this...I got the Continental One Pass for 50k, then just got United for 50k (both sets of miles posted after I paid the first bills).

Can you tell us when you applied for both these cards?
