Here's one for $350, that's as cheap as it gets. If you change the dates on the original suggestion to one day earlier, you'll see BQN for $377.

Amazingly, the pre-tax fare is exactly $1000.00
I haven't checked any other dates, so there may be others possible.
EDIT:
Even better if you change the first flight:
UA2001 ORD-LAX 0900-1117 B772
https://goo.gl/flights/F3P6
This is a much shorter layover at LAX. Besides, I would take a domestic 777 over a 737 any day. And there's always a chance that they will swap it out with the reconfigured domestic bird.

UA/AC:$728USD YUL-PVG (Shanghai) >14000 miles

Unfortunately, it seems you cannot mix outbound/return carriers, so US-PVG-CA (which would qualify for TWOV) is not possible.
Also, please specify what FFP program you are in, and whether you have status. There may be different rules on how flights credit, so that may open up better options.
Good luck!

IAH-EWR-SJU-EWR-IAH out 12/12 return 12/13 is $386, 6016 miles, 328 PQD.
Note that the requirement for PQD for 1K is 12000 for a U.S. resident, so these flights will not get you there.

SFO - 20K miles
Departure Airport: SFO
Miles Needed: 18,028
Required Spend or Budget: <$1000
Available Travel Dates: 11/15-11/18, Dec 5-21
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: UA required
Trying to get back to Gold (used to be 1K, but didn't fly much this year). I have some vacation days to burn so figured why not try to get some miles also. Thanks!
- Found SFO-TPE r/t for a pretty good deal, but couldn't figure out how to extend it another 5,500 miles or so to hit Gold. Any thoughts? Open to almost any trip at this point.

Do you have a China visa? If so this is an option:

UA:$1508CAD YUL-HAWAII ~15000 miles
Nov 26 YUL-ORD-OGG
Dec 6 HNL-LAX
Dec 7 LAX-ORD-YUL
Just need to book a one-way from OGG-HNL.
It'll be my first time to Hawaii and I'll have an evening in LA to visit an old friend. Flying P the whole way, no lie-flats, but I'm hoping for a better experience than economy. I mostly wanted the miles anyway. I think I could have done worse.
Thanks for taking the time to respond to my first post. I think I'm gonna enjoy FT!

I found a comparable itinerary that might be of interest to you. YUL-HNL r/t with a stopover in LA on Nov 6 for US$1,061. Books in P which should earn ~15,400 PQMs.

UA:$1437CAD YUL-HAWAII >15800 AQMs
Nov 26 YUL-IAD-HNL
Dec 6/7 OGG-LAX-IAD-YUL
No stopover time in LA, but I saved $70 and now have lie-flat seats IAD-HNL. That's a 10h25m flight on the way there, so I'll take it!

You can try SFO-IAH-EWR-BQN r/t in biz on 12/7-8 which earns ~18,400 PQMs. It involves an immediate turnaround and I imagine it's the same plane going back. You probably want to check if you can get your boarding pass (for the return) before hand to avoid any delays. Connecting in IAH gives you extra mileage, but dates are quite limited for your budget

Thanks so much Zoqfotpik for the suggestion. Question if anyone knows.. my turn around in BQN (Aguadillo) is about an hour. Will I have to go through customs and then have to re-enter the terminal? Or will they just let me re-board the plane without dealing with customs? I held this flight for three days to see if there were other ideas floating around.

Business class small MR example?
I have a followup to my previous question last week. I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas for a business class ticket mile run for 3639 miles I need to make it to United Gold status this year for the first time in my life.
Departure Airport: EWR or ABE
Miles Needed:3639
Required Spend or Budget: Anything reasonable for the route and in business class
Available Travel Dates: any days November 19/20 or December 2, 3, 4
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: United (UA)
Thank you!
