IAH-BOS-LAX-ORD-BOS-IAD-IAH out 12/2 return 12/3 is $434, 8400+ miles. You can play with the cities on the east and west coast (BOS,EWR,IAD) and (LAX,SFO) to see if you can find anything better.

Hey hey. I've been following this thread and finally going to post my first request. I've been hunting and have run out of ideas. I totally screwed up and didn't fly enough UA miles to get back to Gold. I was a 1K for many years. Due to work, I'm a weekend warrior at best.

Departure Airport:SFO
Miles Needed:20,106
Required Spend or Budget: Want to keep reasonable
Available Travel Dates: Nov 11-14, Dec 2-5, 9-12, 23-26 (In the office on weekdays if possible)
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Need UA PQM

I did find a SFO-SIN-SFO MR flight that has a 2 hour turn around in SIN. Anyone done this flight? How brutal is it and what are the chances I miss my return flight if my inbound flight is late?

thanks!

First, a shoutout to jbeckett. You totally rock! I appreciate all the help you're giving these good people.

Now to change it up a little. I'm on target for UA Platinum. No need to meet PQM or PQD. But I want some cheapish leisure weekends. I'm wondering if you can help this UA traveller out with weekend overnighters (Saturday-Sunday; leave Friday night returning Sunday OK too!) for US$200 or less. I just want to get away, but having problems finding fares under US$200. Any ideas, anyone?

Departure Airport:PHL
Miles Needed: n/a
Required Spend or Budget: $200 or less
Available Travel Dates: Sat-Sun turns only: 10/29-30, 11/5-6, 12/3-4, 12/10-11, 12/17-8
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: UA

Use google.com/flights. Put PHL in the origin, leave the destination blank. Put your dates in for one of the weekends (try 12/10-11 first, there is more to see on this weekend than any other). Pick Star Alliance for the airline. Click on the map, then select under $200 for the price. Zoom in a little, then look and see what it found (I see BOS, RDU, CLT, and DFW). You can limit the outbound and inbound time too. Maybe since you don't need the miles, forget about picking Star Alliance for the airline, and you'll have more choices.

Once again, jbeckett, you rock! I have been using Google flights, though not the right way. I haven't been putting in the price constraints and airline. I'm getting much better results now. DFW has been my go-to cheap city to manufacture runs from PHL, though I'll check out BOS, RDU, and CLT. Thanks again.

Can confirm that Jbeckett is a level 99 flight finding wizard of exceptional integrity. 11/10 would recommend his services to many. Will buy a drink for him at any FT do we meet at.

I've seen several examples out of DEN that totally meet my criteria, with the exception of the dates that didn't work for me (my black out dates below). Prefer either a single trip that has 12+ hours at the turnaround point (might as well enjoy some minimal time on the ground if I'm flying that far). OR would consider two shorter trips where one of the two might be a good place for a quick 2-3 days with the wife near an ocean.

Departure Airport: DEN
Miles Needed: 15,000 PQM for Platinum
Required Spend or Budget: Already met PQD so cheap is better, but also not opposed to reasonable biz class (if it exists) for longer int'l legs
Available Travel Dates: Anything except 11/11 to 11/15 or 12/3 to 12/6
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: If PQM awarded, codeshare is fine

DEN-HNL-GUM-MNL-GUM-HNL-DEN out 11/6 return 11/8 or 11/9 is $622, 17500+ miles.
With a China visa, DEN-SFO-HGH-SFO-DEN is $676 many days, for example 11/18 return 11/21. The direct routing is about 14500 miles so pick an indirect routing as in the link.
DEN-IAH-EWR-BQN-EWR-IAH-DEN out 12/8 return 12/10 in business class is $1019, 15384 miles. Same available other days and other stay lengths at similar price.
