I'm back with a 2nd request... I've been looking myself, but maybe someone else has some better ideas than what I've come up with.

Yesterday I booked BRU-EWR-BRU, and I have two days in EWR to try to nest something in between. If I can make it work, great, if not, too bad too sad.

Departure Airport(s): EWR - or anywhere thereabouts
Desired Destination: doesn't matter - but should be Business Class
Miles Needed: 14,500 PQM
Budget: ~$1000,
Available Travel Dates: 2 December, anytime after 2:15 - land EWR at 13.10.

I've browsed previous threads, and tried playing around with some stuff, but couldn't make it work for me...

Something like PIT-HNL or PIT-FAI/ANC in business class might work for you. Although make sure you pick a connection that gives you extra miles and check the price as taxes are not applied towards PQDs. You shouldn't overly complicate with other itineraries if you can actually do it from your home base. Here's a couple of sample itineraries:

PIT-ORD-SFO-HNL r/t for $2,127, earns ~18,600 PQM's - https://goo.gl/flights/aI1z
PIT-DEN-ANC r/t for $1,488, earns ~14,700 - https://goo.gl/flights/VXFH

There's also seasonal fares in biz from select cities in the US to Seoul, although dates are quite limited - it's only available last 2 weeks in Nov and Dec.
PIT-SFO-ICN r/t costs ~$2,400 and earns ~31,600 PQM's - https://goo.gl/flights/VMTM
Super helpful tips. Thanks guys!

Sorry, I'm having to come back for a second request too. The STL-EWR-HKG-HGH-SFO-STL flight fell through because of the segment from HKG-HGH on DragonAir (they couldn't get me a confirmed seat) and United can't get me on any similar itineraries at a similar price.

I do have a China visa if it helps.

Thanks so much!!

Departure Airport: STL but will position as needed
Miles Needed: At least 17000
Required Spend or Budget: Cheaper the better but willing to do a J if it saves a lot of time
Available Travel Dates: any, prefer weekdays, not available on Nov 8-11, 24-29, Dec 6-14
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: UA PQM

Slight twist on the requests:
I need to find a way to satisfy the minimum PQ$, not the PQM.

Any thoughts?

How about CTU for $970? STL-SFO-CTU-SFO-STL out 11/9 return 11/11, slightly over 17000 miles.

Find a first class flight that allows you to spend enough.

Sorry, missed the word "not".
Same is available on 11/14 return 11/16, just change the dates in the link. You can see all of the dates by clicking on the outgoing date and waiting for the dropdown calendar to appear.
And here's HGH (again) for $855.

Available Travel Dates: I have to be in NYC the night of Nov 19, Detroit the night of Nov 26, Miami the night of Dec 2 (but back in PIT by Dec 3), Chicago the night of Dec 17. Generally I need to keep travel to the weekends and be in PIT during the weekdays, but can work remotely if need be.
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: sure, if it works
google.com can help you. Let's say you want to go from PIT to NYC on 11/19. You can use the multi-city option and see, for example, what a flight from PIT to SFO to NYC would cost. In fact, you can see this for up to five intermediate cities at a time - see this link
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...1-19;tt=m;a=UA

I have used the dropdown menu to specify United only.

Now, you can just change the cities and try different ones. So instead of LAX,SAN,SFO,PDX,SEA, let's try SNA,SMF,SJC,LAS,RNO.
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...1-19;tt=m;a=UA

Or how about ABQ,PHX,ELP,DFW,IAH
https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...1-19;tt=m;a=UA

Given the complexity of what you are trying to do, the only practical way is to learn the tools and find the flights yourself. People here can help with a simple request (i.e. I am in NYC and I need 20000 miles), but when it comes to building complicated itineraries, you're on your own.

I almost got POS to work... which was $800~ but required overnighting in IAH and then I couldn't get back on time. No flights on Sundays... should probably look at it more...

The only realistic destinations are POS, AUA, HNL, OGG, and ANC. Nothing else is likely to be both cheap enough and far away enough but not too far.

MR Out of Austin

Departure Airport: AUS
Miles Needed: 7,000
Required Spend or Budget: $1000 (Don't need any PQDs)
Available Travel Dates: 12Nov day only, 3-4 Dec preferred
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: Codeshares okay - do not need PQDs

Hi All, I am hoping to do this with one or two out and backs, and if you can find a lesser known foreign destination in one of the higher fare classes, I have some GPUs to kill.

A shorter connection than I like in IAH (~36 mins) but that leg is domestic and I'm adventurous! Thanks again!
