DL did reduce mileage on "special fares" but this would not seem to apply to the RGN fare.

I would definitely call DL and find wassup, and let us know.
DL.com is having some major IT issues with the new site so it could be something as simple as that.

Thanks for the post. Here's mine:

Strange that yours doesn't have the ticket number and mine does.

It is a one off period from late March to late April.

mid April. I think they resume 12 April or something? I'm scheduled to fly as normal on 15th April.

Cheers, I'm in bkk now and have only hand carry. My flights ex-rgn is on in two days. I might try and change to an earlier flight instead of a t/o.

This is even a sillier question but assuming I check in bkk-rgn-bkk, can I waltz to the transferr desk prior to the bkk-rgn departure and pick up my ke f tickets, then skip to bkk-rgn-bkk sectors.... Flame away

I am also departing RGN this week (wed) and would be interested in meeting up with anyone who is in RGN on Tuesday. Shoot me a PM.

Tourist visa done for 2000 bahts by agency near Myanmar Embassy

I am in Bangkok. Arriving at the Myanmar Embassy at 11:30am today and found myself at the end of a very long line. Not unexpectedly, the door closed at noon and many of us were out of luck. I did not relish the idea of getting up real early (again), to get in line next day. Walking further up the street I found this place that agreed to do a tourist visa for me for 2000 bahts, all in, to be picked up tomorrow. The best part, I did not have to provide any itineraries, or hotel reservations. This is the only visa I hope I’ll need- to be used later but could facilitate boarding with Air Asia Wednesday though I would be in transit in Rangoon.

Can you let me know, PM or otherwise, where the agency is.
I'll be in BKK next week. Either going to the embassy early or to an agency.
How does 2000Baht compare to what the embassy charges?

2000 baht is roughly double what you will pay in the embassy (+/- 250 baht depending on how fast you want your visa)

I arrived at the embassy last week around 10:30 and paid around 1250 baht to pick up the visa the same day. Probably waited for about 45 minutes to submit my paperwork.

It was very simple, but like solanoma said - don't show up at the last minute... anyone who is still outside when the door closes is out of luck for that day.

I'm guessing the 2000Baht includes pictures and paperwork?
Which I would have to bring to the embassy anyways.

I used Express Center (52/2 Pan Road, Silom). From Myanmar embassy, cross to the other side; walk pass the place (yellow arrow sign) where people can get visa forms and photos- about 5 minutes. The name is half visible, but you can see advertisement for visa and photo services in front. I was given a “new” form and advised on how to fill it out. The one I downloaded was old and lacked the back page. I was asked if I had photos so I gave them 2. That’s it, less than 15 minutes. Had I bypassed the line and requested this service before noon, I suppose I could have the visa on the same day.

While you may find DIY paperwork quick and easy (cheaper too), I did not expect the long line still before closing time and the service is suited for my situation (incl. extra sleep, time and cost of transportation) without too big a premium.

Hello,

Questions for visa experts on this forum, I will fly into RGN (BKK-RGN) on 02/23 @ 1:13pm and depart right back for this mistake fare RGN-BKK same day @ 7:30pm. Now do I need to apply for visa or VOA is ok? Reading the visa information on the very first page by janetdoe suggesting that it's not possible. Thoughts?

If you don't leave the airport, you can just tell the guys in the VOA booth and they'll get some very helpful people to escort you to the transit lounge. They'll also retrieve your luggage from baggage claim and get your ongoing ticket (if you haven't gotten them already). You can save yourself a VISA or VOA ($20) using this option.

If you do want to leave the airport, you can get the VOA when you land at the booth at the bottom of the stairs in the arrival area. It's $20 and requires 2 passport photos. You might have a problem with the checkin agent at BKK since technically a VOA is for ongoing travel. Since you are doing BKK-RGN-(back to) BKK, this is not ongoing travel (it needs to be BKK-RGN-(somewhere else). However, many people have been able to do this, and the VOA guys in RGN have no problem with it.

I had no problems doing the 24 hour VOA last week. Filled the form out, had no problems checking in with SQ at CGK. Wasn't asked for anything when connecting in BKK.

They only needed 1 picture. They had it done in just 5 minutes.

Stayed at the Clover City Center. Nice enough folks, room was ok. No included breakfast, available for $5 more. This would be a $25-$30 room in BKK. $89 for 1 person.
