If you are planning to post your Star Alliance miles from your trip in and out of RGN into MileagePlus this post may be of great interest to you regarding your PQM earnings.
I did a quick search on this thread and I didn't see it mentioned. This informaton was a big help to me and my earnings.

Round 2: Where to sleep in NRT?
On my previous Round 2 trip, I found that an overnight flight followed by 8 hour layover in the DL lounge was a bit of a whipping. This time, I would like to find somewhere with a bed where I can sleep.
Options
1. I think that because I'm arriving on a ANA biz-class flight, I will have access to the ANA Arrivals lounge (but I would have to go through immigration). But as far as I can tell, no beds. Will I have any shot at access to a ANA lounge with beds? (*G, arriving NH paid business class, departing business class, same ticket but on a SkyTeam flight.)
2. I will also have access to the DL lounge as a paid J pax, but there is nowhere to sleep in the DL lounge, as far as I can tell.
3. I could buy a refundable/award JL international flight departing in the evening and use my OneWorld Emerald to sleep in a JAL lounge, canceling before departure.
4. Narita Day Room hotel would cost 2400 yen for the first hour and 1200 yen for each additional hour, so assuming 6 hours, that would be 8400 yen. Not sure how comfy that will be, or if it's worth $90.
5. Hilton NRT has an advance purchase rate of 6000 yen, but we would either do a very late checkin (at 8 am the next day) and ask for a late checkout or a very early checkin at 8 am. Hilton Diamond, so it might work out, and we would have a great free breakfast.
Are there any options I'm missing? What has everyone else done?

i think that's why some of us jumped in the narita airport guest house 'mistake' room price of JPY1100 per night
It's gone now but I booked two nights (night before i arrive and the night after i depart) so i could sleep for the day.

I called Hilton, and they have a 6000 Yen day use rate that is refundable/cancelable, so I booked it. $64 for a nice breakfast for 2, a great bed and a futuristic toilet is well worth it. ^
ETA: To clarify, the free breakfast is a Gold/Diamond perk, not included in the rate.
My dates weren't firm when that rate was available.
Not sure on the rules for your fare, and your airline's desire to follow the fare rules, but I have been able to change return dates on my tickets with no additional fees.

R2 done without incidents!
I have just concluded my R2 travels: RGN-NRT-LAX-YVR-NRT-LAX-RGN; RGN-HND-LAX-YVR. Currently sitting in YVR, waiting for a bus that will take me to SEA for a flight home.
Overall things went as well as one could expect- as many others have reported. No issues at checking in, pretty much it business as usual. It is true, no transit visa needed in RGN. Though I armed myself with a tourist visa that I plan to use in March; it definitely helped alleviate any problem at boarding time.
Upon arrivals in RGN, both times I asked one of the airport agents that met the plane and requested escort to the MAI/ANA lounge, where I could wait in comfort, as the airport staff members arranged a boarding pass for me. The key word to emphasize is transfer, as for transfer lounge).
After I flew RGN-NRT, I was able to get Delta to take over my ticket from NH and switched to a flight from HND to NRT- a very comfortable 777-LR flat bed and added a stop in LAX for a few days.
At YVR immigration, I was quizzed a little, such as, why I’d just arrived from LAX then immediately turned around! Same as RGN…You get the drift, but not unfriendly.
On my second R2 ow, I was not able to change my ticket at all. No success talking to many DL agents, even with help from ANA lounge staff. Though I had flown the first segment, it was still shown as “boarded” not flown. I was told when ANA reissued my last segment AS/DL- a mistake, it essentially tied Delta’s hand, especially when it was not “open.”
So I flew out of HND. Not bad at all. I took a bus there and because it was still daylight I got to see a little of Tokyo. A beautiful day at Narita, as well, and I enjoyed a little visit to a temple two train stops from NRT.

The ANA arrival lounge has only chairs. However, there are two nice massage chairs, each enclosed in a private cubicle/room. The Sky Club/ST lounge air side also has only chairs. I used one of the two massage chairs available. When a lounge staff member saw me settling into the chair, she handed me 2 coins, good for 50-55 minutes. I actually dozed off.

I also reserved three nights, but able to use only one. FD guy could not stop all the giggles. He wrote out breakfast coupons, while commenting that the room costs the same as breakfast! Have a good time...
