I was told today that the grand opening of the food court and pretty much the completion of the concessions rehab project is slated for April 4th.
There will be pre and post security activities.
Ongoing is the upgrades to FIDS, BIDS and APC kiosks. For passengers who haven't departed Terminal 5 in over a year will be mildly surprised with the changes that have taken place.

I will be returning from a year overseas with the wife and baby. We will have 5-6 checked bags, stroller, and 4 carry on bags. I have never used one of the luggage porters before what is the usual tipping amount? We only will need help to United re-check.

I use $1 per bag as a base and adjust up or down depending on the level of service.

I will be departing out of terminal 5 on LO 4 to Warsaw on a Friday in April departing at 9 pm. What is the recommended check in for business class? This is my first bc trip period. I want allow enough time to check in and get through security. I've read trip reports that indicate that this process is not always efficient with LOT. I also am not sure what to expect for security either.
I've read that the good area should be done by the time we go on 4/11. However most places seem to be located pre-security. What is located post security?
Thank you.

There's one dining place located pre-security; The Goddess & Grocer.
Post security you'll have 6 places to eat and a nice new bar.

LO's counters are all the way to the right once you enter the building.

ORD MCT?
I pulled MCT for ORD:
I am landing on AC7403 at 14:56 (T2), leaving on UA958 at 15:50 (T1). That leaves me with I guess 54minute connection, which looking at the above, doesn't seem legal.

I assume these are separate tickets? If the AC to UA flights are considered domestic to international it might be legal. If considered international to international then it doesn't appear to be a legal connection.

Depends on your origin. If you are arriving from a pre-clearance station, you arrive at ORD as a domestic passenger and can make the D-D MCT of 50 minutes.
If you are arriving as an international pax, you are under MCT.
Bear in mind two things:
1. MCT only applies to a carrier's willingness to rebook in the event of a misconnect. If you are on two tickets, the MCT means nothing.
2. MCT does not mean Sensible Connect Time (SCT). The fact that UA will rebook you (presuming one ticket) doesn't make this a great idea.

OP - You still have not answered the original question. Are you on one or two tickets?
Remember, UA requires you to be at the departure gate no later than T-30. Thus, you have 15 minutes from brakes locking on your inbound to being through the gate reader on your outbound. That's crazy, even if legal. Do you have an emergency on both ends of the trip which requires this sort of scheduling?
