Anyone get their purple card yet? On a side note, I signed up for the business card version around August 24, about 2 weeks before the 30,000 bonus offer was unveiled. Recently, called CSR and asked about changing my signup bonus from the 25,000 offer to the 30,000 bonus offer. The CSR was firm that she could not change the signup offer, basically what I signed up for is what I get. I thought about that for a second and asked, "Fair enough. When I signed up for the card the terms stated my annual fee is $65 and now your company changed it to $90. Why can you change the annual fee a few weeks after I sign up for the card, but not the sign up bonus?" The CSR then put me on hold and stated she put a note that she requested for the 30,000 bonus offer and she will check after the 5th month to make sure I get the 30,000 bonus offer. Hope she remembers, but she said she put it on her calendar. |
Seriously? I could care less what a credit card looks like.

I don't have this card. Perhaps the business version can be referred only if you have the email invitation, while the personal version can be referred using the website.

Maybe you can add this one to your signature line too. |

Yes, n't, no n't, you all know what I meant. If a credit card gives me the benefits I personally find valuable, then I don't care if it is khaki polka-dots.
Who are you trying to impress, the cashier at Costco? |
Who are you trying to impress, the cashier at Costco? #2. I did say for non-bonus spending. I value the Amex SPG points similar to 2% cash back cards depending on how many SPG points are already in my account. If all other things are equal or relatively similar, I'll opt to use the card with more appealing design. Same as I would opt for the more appealing design when I use anything else, when all other factors are equal. If that coincides with impressing the cashier at Costco ... fine with me :D |
But you did say you'd use it more now for non-bonus spend now that you like the color - that's what I thought was funny.
I totally get your statements about hats, cars, etc, but I just don't get it for a credit card. I DO like my sexy, black, very heavy Marriott card, but I only use it where it makes sense (like you will for your non-bonus spend). But I don't use it BECAUSE it is sexy and black. I actually find it easier to find my red Starwood card in my wallet - stood out against all the black and gold. But, alas, Starwood with their price increase no longer melds into my plans so I will never get to see the purple. |
Having just started using the Amex SPG overseas and in South Korea in particular and with only a few handful of tests ... the Amex SPG is giving me about 2.4% better rates than Visa and about 1.7% better than Mastercard. That makes up for the increased annual fee and the um entire annual fee and um a whole lot more. I'm impressed.

Any idea how long the stays and nights take to post to my account after I get the BIZ card? Activated and first purchase today. At 22 stays for year. Looking forward to hitting 25 stays.
