With that attitude, you better not care about your job either, because you won't have it for long.
Also I need to justify my personal usage and business use for tax and information security reasons. You should avoid use public service like boingo for confidential business should not you? Many incidents I saw were due to mixture of private and business use of the same devices / account etc. I might not have it for long, but better than leaking the confidential :( Sometimes business expense is less important.:) |

so I ordered 8k of AGC's on SPG personal card about a month ago. Wasn't able to answer the door when the UPS guy came three days in a row so the AGC's were sent back to Amex. A guy in Utah eventually called me and asked if I wanted to have them re sent or cancelled. I told him just to cancel them. Took about 15 days for the charge to be removed and during that 15 days my statement closed and 8k starpoints were sent to my spg account.
I'm actually going to be closing the card today for unrelated reasons. Any chance Amex will claw back the 8k starpoints from my spg account? Or am I safe? Thanks |

Also I need to justify my personal usage and business use for tax and information security reasons. . . . "The Notice issued today provides guidance on the treatment of employer- provided cell phones as an excludible fringe benefit. The Notice provides that when an employer provides an employee with a cell phone primarily for noncompensatory business reasons, the business and personal use of the cell phone is generally nontaxable to the employee. The IRS will not require recordkeeping of business use in order to receive this tax-free treatment." |
Amex SPG new business card auto cancels old card in 7 days.
Here's a business owner who was, without his knowledge, sent the new SPG Business Open card on Day 1. On Day 3 said owner uses his existing card (with no issues and not anticipating any). On Day 5 he leaves the country. On Day 7 his old card is auto-cancelled. On Day 8, while out of the country, he attempts to use his card and discovers it is cancelled.
I am in Seoul and found that my SPG Business Open card was canceled/blocked/whatever on 9/22. Two transactions failed on 9/22 and 9/23. I was unable to determine whether it was due to merchant not accepting Amex or card was blocked for some reason. I made 3 calls and spoke with 3 supervisors. All stated the same. I was sent the new style card on 9/15. On 9/22 my old card was -automatically- cancelled...period. The policy is that 7 days after sending a customer the new card, the old card is automatically cancelled. (For comparison, under this scenario, the Amex SPG personal card has a 45 day overlap period for the issuance of these new cards). I am at a loss as to the logic behind the timing policy of this new issuance. |
Now that the annual 30K offer is over, has anyone seen a 25K offer for the biz card that doesn't require a $5000 spend in three months? Prior to the features change, the spend was $3000, which for a 25K bonus seems more appropriate. All I've seen since mid-month is the offer with the $5000 spend requirement.

Also, a reminder to all: do not post referral solicitations in this thread. That's a clear violation of the FT T&C. |

FWIW, I received a number of emails from Amex advising of the new card's impending arrival and of the fact that the old card would be deactivated soon. Did you not get such an email notification...
With the issuance of the new personal card, I received 1 email notification the week prior to travel. I called to enquire if I would receive it before my next trip the following week. I was told that even if I didn't, there was a 45 day overlap where that card would remain active. |

Yes. The month previous I had requested my account be issued a new card with the chip. Sometime in mid August I received it...in the old style with chip. I activated it and used it over a 3 or 4 week period.
