Wow. Talk about bad timing. No idea how they would handle that, but you would want to get clarification before making the spend that you will get the bonus. I noticed there is language in the terms saying that the app must be approved by the deadline, so if it is applied for but still pending at the time the deadline passes then signup offer doesn't apply at least per the terms. CSR might make an exception.

Be forewarned: American Express customer service agents do not have the authority to waive the written terms of an offer, and American Express will not honor what you think a CSR told you.

For business cards you can not get the bonus if you had the same business card within the prior 12 months.

1) If I use someone else's referral link to apply for a new SPG AMEX BIZ card, do we both get the 5K point bonus.. or do they only receive the bonus?

2) I've had the the personal SPG AMEX card for a couple of years now and it is my daily spend card. Can I send a referral link to myself for the BIZ version of this card? If so will I receive the 5K point bonus as both the referrer & the referee?

You receive the 30,000 point offer. You do not receive any additional Starpoints for using the link.

You cannot generate a referral for a card which you do not have. If you have the personal card you can generate personal card referrals, not business card referrals.

Anyone else having issues submitting an application? I tried on my iPad and my PC and got error messages after completing the application and hitting the submit button.

I'm going to apply for the SPG business card and was going to list my home address instead of my office address on the app. The reason being is that my office address has a number of businesses at the same location and when I got my chase business card I had to jump through additional hoops sending them a copy of my lease etc. Since I have had this chase business card for over a year now is it likely that I can avoid going through the delay of verification with amex or would it be better to just use my home address on my app? Business is a sole prop if that changes anything.

datapoint: I was approved for the SPG Biz 25k offer on July 27th, I called in very courteously today asking to match my offer to the 30k and mentioned that I'm loyal to amex (member since 06'), that chase has matched my offers previously and that I plan on keeping the card for a while and without hesitation he matched my offer, and said he will transfer me the extra 5k for my next statement (ends in a 2 days), since the 25k has already posted. He noted because I was a "good standing" member that he will match the offer.
