No, they do not. Just for annual qualification; if you would be at say 70 or 95 nights per year then the extra five would bump you up.

I have tried unsuccessfully to search for an answer to this and I am hoping someone here can help me. Can I receive the sign up bonuses for The Starwood Biz card for multiple businesses? I am currently an officer in three different S Corp's or LLC's. Likewise, am I able to churn cards as different entities with each having it's own EIN? I appreciate any info any of you might have.

Hi, Quick question, I've had the SPG amex for a month now, I've spent the required £1000 and my balance shows as ~20000 points, my only question is, how do I get these transferred to a SPG Reward account? I didn't set one up before I got the card so do I just have to wait for one to be created for me? I'm slightly confused :)

Anybody else noticing the 15K bonus for $5K spend is missing from the apply site on amex? Is there a code I can call up Amex customer service and use to apply for the 10k pts + 15k bonus for spend? I'd like to apply today.
Edit: Cleared browser cache, promo shows up when not logged into my account. Applied for the card, it's now pending review. Never had this issue before. |
5 nights/2 stays - auto-creating new SPG account
i wasn't seeing my 5 nights/2 stay credit posting to my account after i was approved for a Business SPG AMEX account, and lo and behold, AMEX created a new account for me (despite my entering in my existing SPG account in the application).
resolving was really simple - call AMEX to get the other account number that is attached to the credit card application, then call SPG concierge to merge accounts together. the entire process took about 5 minutes total - now i can breathe a bit better knowing i'm going to re-qual before the end of year. hope this helps! |
Anyone have issues with the bonus spend points? I got the "signup" points, but the points for spending $3000 in 3 months or whatever it was never posted (I far outspent the requirement). AMEX claims that my offer didn't include a spending points bonus, even though I specifically searched out the offer with 10k signup/15k spend bonus. AMEX says I have no proof, so no bonus.

If you cancel the SPG card after that year's night/stay credit posts, do you lost that? I heard it posts sometimes in Jan..
I am thinking of cancelling when the annual fee comes up. |

I closed my Amex SPG credit card last June 2011 (was opened in July 2010). Do you think I can get another bonus under the current offer of 10k+15k offer?

So here is my plan....
I have a delta gold amex which I hardly use because I am already medallion with Delta and get the benefits anyway. I want to get this card, switch the credit limit to the SPG, and then cancel the delta amex. The airline miles potential for this card seems solid :) Is this a good idea or no? How do you all like this card? That 25k pts after 5k in 5 months seems doable. |

Highly doubt it, but you can try... |

I've had the SPG AmEx for a number of years. Based on the info from FT, I picked up another personal card a few months ago. I called about my first spend bonus, and they said sorry, can't give it to existing card holders (I knew that, so no biggie. I did get some good will points.) The agent was very clear that I would get the 20k after sping $5k in 6 months.
When I completed my spend, I called and asked when the points would post. "8-12 weeks." Ok, fine. I called back 12 weeks later (on the 24th) and was told an unequivocal "heck no." See, the thing is, I paid about $100 in foreign currency transaction fees to help meet the spend bonus. I gave the agent a bit of a hard time, and he wouldn't budget. Said that there were "new controls" in place to keep people from manipulating the system. I told him that might be all fine and good, but I was out some real money, not to mention the opportunity cost of putting that spend on a different card. No dice, although he said he'd refer it to marketing. So, in true FT fashion, I called back a second time. I got the same very insistent "heck no you're not." I gave the rep the same song and dance, and told her that I didn't think it was fair that AmEx told me what I wanted to hear so they could get some money out of me, but then when it came time to paying up, they didn't want to. I told her that this sucked, because we're not talking about some sort of bonus for swiping the card once, but going through the efforts of spending $5k (which is a good chunk of money). I tried the whole "cancel all of my accounts" spiel (which I would... AmEx isn't my go-to program anymore.) After she wouldn't budge, I asked for a supervisor. The rep told me that she'd put me through, but it wouldn't do any good. Strangely, the sup gets on the phone and says, "Agent XXX says that you've been told conflicting information. Since you've been a customer for a long time and have several accounts with us, we're going to go ahead and issue the points." Just like that. I thanked her profusely, but re-iterated that I was really frustrated that the reps told me one thing three months ago, but changed the tune now. $5k spend and $100 in cold hard $, that's a lot to suck up. I'd understand a first spend bonus or whatever, but this really isn't a something-for-nothing situation. The points posted yesterday, so she wasn't bs'ing me. |
So you have two Amex SPG personal accounts? I haven't seen that before.
In any event, secure message is always best. That way, their commitment is in writing. |
