4/10 is the maximum number of stays/nights that can be garnered by one member with a personal and business card. Any additional SPG personal or business cards would not garner additional stays/nights above that limit.

The one thing that is annoying about these cards is it doesn't apply to lifetime nights.
With the Marriott card, it applies to lifetime night and it's a min of 15 a year with an additional one every 3k. For Starwood Amex, one card is 5 nights (2 is 10) and it doesn't apply. I don't see the harm in applying 5-10 nights a yr. After all you need 10 yrs of platinum! |
Add me to the 15K after $5K spend runaround train. I have been going back and forth over the past week via secure message center. Let's see what they come back with this time. A call to customer service is next.
Will keep you posted. |

Does anyone know if the 30K sign up bonus for the business card is coming back anytime soon? I just started my own business and would like to get the business version to complement the personal one that I have had forever.

Wow, I got lucky. They gave me the 15K spend bonus right when I hit the $5000 mark. It posted right away, didn't even wait till the close of the billing cycle.

Don't forget, you can get the personal bonus once every two years, or less in some cases. |

Will keep you posted. I just got a reply that it may take 2-3 billing cycles to resolve. Oi. The CSRs are very polite but don't appear to be very empowered. --Mike |
Change in terms of Amex credit card
An attachment to my latest statement states "You receive 1 additional point ... for each $1 of eligible purchases charged directly with participating Starwood properties ... that, in each case, are wholly owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and its affiliates." Does this mean we will not receive the extra point at Starwood properties that are not owned by Starwood? |

Although you deleted some of the text, the words "in each case" support your interpretation. Starwood Lurker, please confirm, and if true, let us know HOW we are supposed to know which properties are wholly-owned by Starwood and affiliates? My understanding is that only a handful of Starwood hotels are so owned.

I interpreted this new wording to imply that purchases through third party travel agents to not count. I think that "its affiliates" includes licensees and franchisees.
