I know this is a thread apparently about the US card but I have just dumped my UK SPG Amex after a year. Twice the price and less than half the benefits of the US card makes minimal sense for regular use.

I think it is about time Starwood had a rethink about the value proposition for this card. I suspect that many other UK cardholders will not continue to hold the card beyond the first anniversary.

Anybody else noticing a slower posting of points? My personal and our corporate card used to post the points the first business day after the statement came out. Now it has been nearly a week and no points have posted yet. Anybody know if they have changed the amount of time they are holding points before they post them?

I am noticing the same delay, rather lack of points being posts. I have personal and Corporate and my personal would have normally hit on 11/5, however, still no points for November.

Last month (October) my Corporate hit right on schedule on the 15th.

Haven't noticed a delay on personal and only slightly on the business - my personal card closed yesterday and I see the points posted day. Business card closed on Oct 18 and the points posted on 10/22 when in the past few months they always posted on the 20th of every month.

AMEX says they sent the points to Starwood last week but they do not show that Starwood has accepted them yet, so it looks like an issue on Starwood's side. Was expected the points to post as well on Monday. Amex just resubmitted the points on both cards. Will see if it was just glitch earlier in the week that has now been resolved. If you were expecting points to post on Monday, you may need to call Amex to get the points resubmitted.

Somehow i missed this but how do you actually send a referral for this card??? I was going to refer my spouse for the business card (which I have) but couldnt find out how to refer her? I logged into my amex account and searched all over. no luck.

I did refer her the personal card earlier this year but i had an email which i could send out referal. I dont have that email anymore.

OK, thanks for the update. I guess I will have to give AMEX a call.

Anybody know how long the 2 stay/5 night elite credit takes to post? I've had a personal card for a while and the elite credit for that posted early in the year. I was just approved for a business card and provided the same SPG account number but the stays/nights haven't posted yet (card active since start of the week).

I want to make sure there isn't a huge lag time for posting for new accounts that will cause me to miss getting the credit for 2012

They usually only post once a year in early January. You'd have to check to see if you get anything for this year as January is not that far away now.

Actually, if you pick up a new qualifying card during the year, you should get 2 stays/5 nights within about two weeks.
