For comparison, under this scenario, the Amex SPG personal card has a 45 day overlap period for the issuance of these new cards.

FWIW, I received a number of emails from Amex advising of the new card's impending arrival and of the fact that the old card would be deactivated soon.
Another inconsistency: I recently received my new purple card and it has no contactless technology included. I have a secondary cardholder, whose new card does! Amex didn't bother to ask what we wanted, they just sent them at random. |

I got the SPG Amex in August and completed my 3K spend within the 3 months; the points for the third month posted to my account yesterday. But I am not seeing any 30K bonus. When is that supposed to show up?

We got a notice that your email could not be delivered because it appears to have contained a credit card number. All we really need is your SPG account number, so if you could delete any sensitive data and re-send, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm close to the $30K spend on a new SPG Biz card, and since I don't have plans to very soon stay in a SPG hotel, I wonder how should I time hitting the $30K threshold.
The offer terms mention "Please allow 12-16 weeks after your Eligible Purchases equal or exceed such amount for the applicable year for enrollment to become effective." What is the approximate time that others here have had to wait between hitting the spend threshold and getting the Gold level? |

Free premium in-room Internet access - question
Does a stay booked with starpoints through the SPG.com site qualify for the Free premium in-room Internet access benefit from the Starwood Preferred Guest Amex credit card?
I ask because the qualifier in the description "Booking requirements apply" with the extra footnotes - is not entirely clear to me what a "qualifying rate" means. I've tried looking through this thread and other related threads, but difficult to find this information in the 185+ pages. Thanks! |

Anyone spending money on this card might want to put that on pause due to the coming Marriott merger:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...t-reached.html I, for one, will not be using this card at all until I'm convinced that my SPG points will have some real value down the road. I'm clearly sitting on too many already. If one SPG point becomes one Marriott point . . . |
I wonder if MAR would be able to do a dual-conversion. 1 MR point for every 1 *P that was earned via CC spend (so just like base spend on the Chase card I think), and 5 MR points for every 1 *P that was earned via a hotel stay (the current base earn ratio). Probably impossible to figure that out though for each person.
But yeah, 1:1 would be a total disaster. Even in Amex stays and transitions to the new program, that's going to be a huge devaluation of the card. Hopefully we'll have some notice about the conversion... |
