Mine has not updated yet either. Although...I did technically get an “extra” year counted during the merger (having status the same calendar year at both SPG and MAR due to linking accounts gave me an extra lifetime year). Are there any folks whose lifetime years updated (or not) and had the same thing happen during the merger?

Hi Mark,

The year count will be updated after the year end account review is completed.

Mine updated on the 3rd of January. I was pleasantly surprised. It got me lifetime Platinum which was nice, though it would have been even cooler if Marriott had been able to send me an email with congratulations

Congrats to achieving LT Plat! Marriott should have a special LT status for us non americans. It's harder for us as we do not have these fancy US/Canada Credit cards giving away 15 elite nights each year.

After this year I'll be LT Silver which is great because that's when my points will never expire. I've got 6 more years and 400 nights until LT Platinum. One of many personal life goals.

Mine updated on the 2nd of Jan, however even though I ticked from 9 to 10 years as PLT+ and 1K nights no change in LT status... No big deal since I expect it to change after 1st Feb .... However the mosaic of outcomes is quite baffling makes you think that the IT dept. have poor control of what the code does ....

A friend of mine has 18 nights as of now without staying. 15 from credit card and 3 from redemption even though she did not have any stay yet. However, her 50 nights she recently earned toward the end of December last year is now reduced to 48 after she called to claim some missing points for the last two stays (two nights). She got the points credited but also has these mess. Now when she logon to the account on computer, she sees 18 nights for 2020 and need 2 night to renew her platinum status. What the heck is all this???

Marriott at it's finest. Don't worry, they can resolve it with a combination of 8 emails and phone calls.

You missed elite nights for fake meetings. Remember the "Plat status for $800" thread?

Anyone notice that if you have two seperate reservations for a given stay when you checkin and they merge the reservations they normally move all the charges onto the final day and 0 out the folio for the first night, the final folio only shows a 1 night stay and surprise surprise Elite nights are not credited for the first night and half your points are missing.

5 emails and 9 phone calls to sort it out

That was why I insisted to settle the folio each morning when we had 3 consecutive nights booked as 3 reservations because we were adding nights on a trip, precisely to avoid complication like you encountered because I had suffered this in the past. Though this is not unique to Marriott, Hilton and IHG have done the same to me too. It seems a common practice at the FD of many properties regardless of the chain.

Nights to Platinum Don't Add Up

Hi:

I'm Marriott Gold and haven't stayed any nights this year. However, on the Marriott website it says I only need ten more nights to qualify for Marriott Platinum... what should I do about this? Any possible explanation - quite strange... I thought I would need much more...

Thanks - see attached,

I'm going to use my amazing powers of prediction and guess your exact number of Marriott nights last year...it's coming to me...40. How'd I do?
