Platinum Challenge Question

Hi All, just joined the forum. Really enjoy the info and have a question if anyone can help please

I just competed the Bonvoy Gold to Platinum challenge this week , I had until March 31st to do it but hit it early.

when I called to ask them to add to my account they said it won’t be added until the last day of the challenge !

does that make sense I thought it would be immediately

If she completes the required elite nights and is upgraded in January 2020, she would have Platinum status till end of 2020.

For more information and registration, she would need to call customer support.

Hi Christine,

If signing up for the Platinum Challenge now and you have 3 months to earn, will the status then be earned for next year as well or only until the end of 2020.

Some confusion from the representatives.

Thanks

Are pre-booked (but not pre-paid) stays valid for the Platinum Challenge if the stay doesn't happen until after I enroll?

Thx.....

Yes, the stay will be eligible for the challenge as long as it is an qualifying stay and completed during challenge period.

I see nothing that shows how many nights I have and/or how many I nee to go to verify my numbers.

Anyone know where to find this info in one's account or do they intentionally hide it to make it difficult to track or prove anything so they can say "We have no record you signed up" or "Those stays didn't count. You are one stay short and your 3 month period ended yesterday".
Best you can do is just call in and re-verify your challenge status. It's super-annoying especially for those of us who need to mattress run a couple nights to make it, but Marriott has made this process difficult/uneasy, intentional or not.

This seems really poor - if correct, I'll be waiting a while for my status too. Also makes it difficult to verify that the challenge was in fact completed before the period ends.

SPG challenge was instantaneous for me when I did it. Would be nice to get some feedback from Marriott Bonvoy Lurker II on this!

My status changed to Platinum today after I completed the challenge. But where can I see, how long I will be Platinum? I can not find anything in the app, also not on the Marriott website.

Hi Tom,

Congratulations on completing your challenge! You'll keep Platinum Elite status for the rest of 2020 and all of 2021.

Status expiration isn't displayed for members through the app or online. If you're ever unsure, please feel free to contact us and we'll look it up.

Does anyone know when or how the challenge appears? I'm newly gold for 2020, but want to get Platinum ideally, but if I can shortcut getting to that, that would be great!

Thanks for any help.

You just call in and ask for it.

Marriott makes it extremely difficult.

Although a lifetime gold, it was only when I asked about (and was denied) an exception to get the one more day this January that I would have needed to make 50 nights last year and after I replied about "their" loyalty, that they mentioned on the second email about the program. and then would not credit me with the stays for the prior 3 months that would have allowed me to complete the challenge when I told them they had never told me about it. They hide it very well.

They provide no information in your account on your challenge time period, how many days you have completed or left, or any other information about it. You have to call and ask.

If at any time you are not sure about a stay's qualification or anything else about the program, you have to call again.

I expect to make it by taking an unplanned vacation next month but if I miss it, I'll just keep my lifetime gold, make only points stays to use the points, drop their credit card and go back to Hilton.

Platinum Challenge Question

May I know if Design Hotels booking via marriott.com be counted as qualified nights for Platinum challenge?

If I complete the challenge by March, will I be platinum till Dec 2021?
