Are there any special considerations due to Covid19? I had 12 nights in Jan and Feb, but now customers are canceling all on-site meetings...

Questions about Platinum Challenge details
Hi,
I've been looking for clear details about parts of this challenge, but there seem to be some conflicting information out there. I currently have a Bonvoy AMEX with the 15 nights, plus I've made a few stays so I'm at 18 nights.
For the Platinum Challenge, I've read that you get the remainder of the month plus 3 calendar months to complete. Is this true? The guides tend to continue to refer to 90 days, but if you start early in the month, you actually get more than 90 days, is this right? I'm hoping to include mid July in the challenge, so if I request in early April, then I would get the rest of April, May, June and July, right?
Also, if I don't end up succeeding in the challenge, do I still get those nights added to my current tally? So if I have 18 now, and managed to do 12 during the challenge, I will still get credited for a total of 30 nights, so I will still get Gold status, right?
Finally, I read it's a good idea to call a few days after the first night to make sure I'm properly enrolled. Is this what everyone's doing? Do you get some confirmation? Is it better to ask via email? Seems like the confirmation is inconsistent (and often contains grammatical errors).
Thanks.

It's still worth a mattress run but it's really unfortunate timing.

It'd be nice, since I just had to cancel a trip to Chicago due to the shutdown that would have pushed me over and it seems incredibly unlikely that I'll have any travel before my challenge expires in April.

Recent data point of near-immediate status upgrade from post 307 also.

I had planned to start the challenge in April and hopefully get until end of July to complete. I don't even know if they would let me do the challenge now, never mind the possibility of closures. There are just some stays I'm going to need to do in the Toronto, Canada area in the coming months cause of some family responsibilities, whether at Marriott or elsewhere so I figured I'd do them with Marriott and do the Platinum Challenge.
Anyway, I could have bigger problems. Hope everyone stays healthy, and hope the affected employees get some financial help.

Having earned Platinum via a challenge last year, assumed I would still have it this year and through to March of next (reminder of year earned, year qualified for, and 2/3 months grace). However have now dropped to Gold, frustratingly as was just short of 50 nights last year however had no concerns it would drop down this year. Is that correct?

I'm a gold member and started a platinum challenge running through may. All was going great and got 12 nights in and then.... well you know the rest. Has anyone had any luck with extensions or flexibility?
Going out just for a few matress runs also seems like a poor choice in today's world.
