I'm shocked the NC7 appears to finally be available, I can't decide if it's worth the numerous phone calls it would likely take to upgrade, however.

Technically I was only charged 75,000 points, but I can see in my account that it actually cost 105,000 points. When I was on the phone with the UK trying to upgrade the agent just gave me a bonus 30,000 points to make up the difference. I think I got really lucky!
Or what you are saying is, OC6 has 75K refund value, and to upgrade to NC5, you need to pay 30K but the kind UK agent has given you 30K courtesy points to offset the additional 30K you have to pay to get the NC5? That would make sense with your 105K explanation. |
How many points needed to upgrade OC1-5 (P830) to NC6? if my understanding is right, 60k?

Wait... they are now potentially allowing upgrades of the older ‘legacy’ packages? |
Need some help with this one
I had a reservation and a legacy 7 night category 1-5 travel package certificate attached.
I asked to detach the certificate and convert the legacy 7 night category 1-5 travel package certificate to a new post merger category 4 certificate. With this move I get a refund of 45,000 points correct? Thanks in advance Robert. |

Hi. I still have the old legacy 7 night travel package for Cat 1-5 hotels that expires Mar 2, 2019. From what I’ve read I need to call in to Marriott to get the legacy certificate converted to a new Cat 1-4 certificate. If I called in today to convert my certificate, will my expiration date get changed to 1 year from today? |
Data point for all those asking if the certs are transferrable:
I made a reservation for a couple of family members and put their name on the reservation at the time of booking. They had no issues at check-in. YMMV. |
Data Point
I was able to convert 2 870T travel packages to QP91 this morning and received the confirmation emails. At this time, the extra 30,000 I expected to have withdrawn from my account is still there. There was no mention of it on the call. I called the US Loyalty rewards number. |

Did you make the reservation in your name and add their name to it (is this possible online)? Or, did you make the reservation in their name only and attach your certificate? Did the family member have the same last name as yours? I would like to use one of my certs for a family member with a different last name.

It was a while ago, but I think I made the reservation online with my name, then called in to apply the cert. When I spoke to the agent, I told her I wouldn't be there and gave the name of family member which then appeared on the reservation confirmation email I received (different last name).
