I'm not sure exactly when but Le Meridien Montreal has left Marriott and is now SENS Hotel. I believe this is the last Le Meridien in Canada. I'm not as disappointed about this as I was when Le Meridien King Edward in Toronto left for the Omni chain.

The three properties on Saudi Arabia's Sindalah Island [part of the NEOM dystopia megaproject] mentioned upthread have just been announced by Marriott, and will include the first Autograph Collection hotel in the country as well as two Luxury Collection resorts. The Autograph property will have 66 rooms and suites including several villas, while one LC will have 70 rooms and suites with villas thrown in, and the other LC will constitute 115 suites and be located within the heart of the island. All three will open in 2024.

A bit underwhelming given Marriott's portfolio breadth and the purportedly "ultra-luxury" positioning of this project, but oh well.

Any news on the Queenstown or Auckland Moxy properties status? The most recent updates seem to be from 2 years ago, only 2 active Marriotts in New Zealand:

Eight new Marriott hotels signed today for the Rua Al Madinah megaproject in Madinah, Saudi Arabia:
  • The Ritz-Carlton, Rua Al Madinah / 151 rooms and suites including a signature Ritz-Carlton suite, multiple dining concepts, a 500-sq m ballroom, an expansive fitness centre and Ritz Kids space
  • JW Marriott Rua Al Madinah / 252 guest rooms and suites, multiple dining concepts, a fitness centre and meeting room facilities
  • Madinah Marriott Hotel Rua Al Madinah / 450 guest rooms and suites, dining, recreation, and meeting facilities
  • Le Méridien Rua Al Madinah / 533 modern guest rooms and suites, and three dining concepts alongside recreation and meeting facilities
  • The Westin Rua Al Madinah / 361 rooms and suites, three dining outlets, a fitness centre, a kids club, and meeting facilities
  • Four Points by Sheraton Rua Al Madinah / 777 rooms and apartments, two all-day dining concepts, spacious meeting facilities, and a fitness centre
  • Aloft Rua Al Madinah and Courtyard by Marriott Rua Al Madinah / a combined 1,810 rooms and suites, 1,100 sqm of meeting space facilities, and multiple dining and recreation offerings
No opening dates listed, but given that the recently-announced Hyatt properties in the same development are to open in 2026, I would guess these will open around the same time.

Some new properties have popped up on marriott.com …
  • Delta Times Square Hotel NYC - this is the refurbished and rebranded Stay TBA Hotel just off Times Square.
  • Four Points Plano, TX - a rebranded La Quinta (the newish prototype), didn‘t know they were nice enough to live on as a Marriott branded property.
  • Pigeon Forge Tribute Portfolio - the rebranded Island Drive Lodge. Looks like a dump right off the bat with outside corridor rooms. Hopefully, they will have a serious renovation before it opens.
  • Hotel Magdeburg Ebendorf - joined under this name for now until it is renovated. It will become a Courtyard and in its prior life was an NH hotel.
  • FreiGeist Göttingen Design Hotel - rather new hotel that recently joined Marriott
  • Residence Inn Munich Central - seems to be the rebranded and refurbished Four Points Munich Central.
  • Rastrello Hotel Panicale, Italy - looks to be an interesting property.
  • Argentario Golf and Wellness Resort Ercole, Italy - no idea about this property.
  • Domes Lake Algarve Resort - another Domes hotel that joins Autograph Collection. If my memory is right, the first outside Greece.
  • Olea All Suite Hotel - another new resort joining Design Hotels on Zakynthos, Greece

It was renamed a couple of months ago:

There are 2 newly opened Design Hotles in Indonesia that apparently not participating in Bonvoy.
Somewhere Lombok and Cap Caroso Sumba.

Wouldn't be surprised if these Design Hotels decide not to participating anymore.

Surprised to see this one- the pics look 100% new La Quinta and don’t have any of the current Four Points design motifs.

Would have thought this could be slotted in as a Courtyard but perhaps Marriott is more interested in maintaining consistency for that flag vs Four Points

All of the Luxury Collection hotels in the Peninsula of the Yucatan, Hacienda Santa Rosa, Hacienda San Jose and Hacienda Temozon have all left Marriott and are joining IHG.

Yep, they're already up at the IHG site:

https://www.ihg.com/spnd/hotels/us/e...ss/hoteldetail

FYI, there are two others - Hacienda Puerta Campeche and Hacenda Uayamon.

All 5 left Marriott.

Interesting. Looks like this just opened last year as the "Well Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 20" and going to be immediately rebranded. Looks like it's a bit down the soi and between BTS stations. https://goo.gl/maps/pqqd3AEiZs9uDW7M7

Also noticed this one is coming up in June as well:

Madi Paidi Bangkok, Autograph Collection

That appears to be a new development. Looks nice in the pics. Just down the road from the Marriott by Thong Lor BTS station. https://goo.gl/maps/xWEEPWZWauY7AEEW6

And in December...

Courtyard Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

Looks to be a rebrand of the "Park Nine Hotel" near BKK. Good to have a points option nearby. https://goo.gl/maps/YwNXfaYfiZz9w9PS7
