Singapore EDITION supposedly open soon (December?)
|
Sheraton Mahwah, located right on the NJ/NY border, is closing by December and will be demolished:
https://www.nj.com/bergen/2023/09/la...arehouses.html Apparently, the hotel business only occupies a portion of the huge structure. The rest was office space, but with the post-COVID changes, the office space is only 30% occupied. The plan is apparently to demolish the hotel and build two huge industrial warehouses, which will be more profitable for the owners. |
Four Points by Sheraton Kingston in Ontario
has lost its branding, though it still shows up within Marriott as Kingston Market Square Hotel https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotel...otel/overview/ |
Four Points by Sheraton Scranton
has left Marriott, now now ANZ Hotel Scranton |
Avalon Hotel & Suites in Alexandria, Louisiana has just been added to the Four Points online directory
Name change to Four Points by Sheraton Alexandria coming any time, I suspect https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotel...dria/overview/ |
Four Points by Sheraton London Gatwick Airport
gone/closed The hotel's opening seems like it was postponed due to the pandemic. It opened in March 2021, apparently as a government contracted quarantine hotel, under Four Points branding, based on TripAdvisor comments. https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/busi...irport-3225430 I believe someone said it's now being used to house asylum seekers |
Four Points by Sheraton Kampala
opened last week, 9/5, across the street from the Protea Hotel https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotel...pala/overview/ |

Well, construction is almost complete so Vail Residence Inn Plans September Opening.
No mention of shuttle to the slopes (yet) anywhere on there web pages. I can't imagine them not having a shuttle. But then again there are no pictures of their rooms yet either; however, there are room descriptions and all come with full kitchens, but only the 2 bedroom units also have an oven. With its location just up N Frontage Rd, and with sidewalk access 0.4 miles down to City Market and 0.5 miles down to Safeway, that along with a shuttle to the slopes would be very convenient and mean no need for a car as that would save $45/night hotel parking and up to $40/day for town of Vail parking. FWIW, there is Buffehr Creek bus stop eastbound (to the slopes) 0.2 miles from the hotel on Chamonix Ln, half of that walk is slightly up hill and has no sidewalk and walking there could be a challenge in ski boots and with skis and poles (easier for snowboarders IMO). Returning to the hotel the westbound bus stop is much closer (400' away right on the N Frontage Rd), relatively flat and sidewalk all the way. Alternatively, I guess one could also pay for ski storage at the slopes, or if renting skis/snowboards store them at Vail Sports, Vail Ski Tech or from whomever else they're rented. |

Just discovered the Luxury Collection, Hotel Balkan, in Sofia has deflagged, and there's a new Design Hotel opened elsewhere in the city since I last booked a stay in Bulgaria.
