Uncaring management, terrible training, the most unprofessional FDA I've come across (rolled her eyes when I told her it was our honeymoon). Described the breakfast benefit wrong (manager actually came over to correct her on that, didn't help with anything else), "upgraded" to the worst room with tiny windows that felt like a prison cell. Then of course the breakfast wasn't comped at check-out. The hotel isn't fully opened yet (judging by the status of the pool it won't be ready in time for your stay later this month), looks beautiful from the outside but has some head-scratching design decisions/installation issues. We heard multiple people complaining about low water pressure & no hot water as well (which seems like a major design flaw when you only have a 3 story hotel). Read other reviews online (including Marriott.com), you'll find my experience isn't abnormal, seems this property is trading solely on location and how great the exterior looks. AVOID.

Hi all,

Have there been any new reviews of the new Renaissance St. Augustine Historic Downtown Hotel (St. Augustine, FL, US)? There were some middling comments posted earlier, but I'm hoping these were just new property teething issues.

thanks!

Lot of new hotels opening in Yokohama's Minato Mirai area. Westin Yokohama will become Japan's second Westin, opening in May 2022.

Yep, Westin already has five hotels in Japan - Kyoto, Osaka, Rusutsu, Sendai, Tokyo.
This new property will be their sixth.

Looks like a new Renaissance is opening downtown Dallas in the existing Cambria space. Their site says Dec 21, but I don’t think this hotel is opening tonight…

Two of The Saint properties, The New Orleans location and the newly opened Charleston location have left Marriott. The Key West location is still with Marriott. Not a fan as the The Saint New Orleans was one of my favorite properties.

Are you sure about this? The NoLa property still is available for booking on Marriott.com while the Charleston property never was a Marriott property as far as I know.

I stopped into the Charleston property yesterday and the new property manager stated that both NoLa and CHS Saints were leaving/not joining Marriott and would be independent. They may have been mistaken about the NoLa property, but it has certainly been sold to a new management company.

Le Méridien Yaoundé will bring the brand back to Cameroon when it opens in 2023 with "155 rooms, 14 suites, three conference rooms, a party hall and will rise over 13 floors, with two underground parks." Strangely, it's going to open as a four-star hotel rather than the usual five stars that international Le Méridien hotels open as... but hey, a new LM is always a good thing.

This hotel will have the full roster of activities and features!

Curious where this might be going in Myeongdong. If memory serves me correct, there is a building that looks sort of like this on the road heading to the US embassy.

An iconic hotel, Hotel Danieli in Venice is going to leave Marriott and become a Four Seasons within 2024.

Stayed there twice in SPG era, truly spectacular hotel and great service indeed.

Another hugh loss. Pretty sad to me.
