Work on W Milan at Piazzetta Bossi is ongoing, and it's still scheduled to open under the W brand. It's not that odd to have more than one outpost in the same city: Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta and Seattle [if you count Bellevue] all have two Ws.

St Regis Longboat Key (Sarasota) FL is under construction but has a 2024 delivery. Residents are for sale too. I know they are pushing for 2023 but they’re have been delays. New Ritz residence tower is open this year.

Anybody knows what happened to Keraton at the Plaza?

Sales for condos at the Ritz Carlton NoMad in NY are starting (or have soft started pre-listing style?). Our broker got us an invite to the launch party but I’m not sure how this will work as the building clearly isn’t done.

It's been reported in the Hyatt forum that the Marriott Coralville (near Iowa City) re-flagged today as a Hyatt Regency. It's bookable through the Hyatt website.

Does anyone know when the actual opening date for the Ritz-Carlton Mexico City is? Their website says they are opening in September 2021 and accepting bookings for October 1, 2021 onward but their actual availability shows nothing until the last week of October, then a gap of 1 week of no availability for the first week of November then normal availability for the rest of November.

Have they just not nailed down the exact date in October and are not committing to early dates yet or something else?

Grand Prix is happening at that time (Nov 5-7). Actually, they just pushed the date back by a week, originally scheduled for Oct 29-31.

Ah - so likely the opening is scheduled for late October and the odd lack of availability just after that is purely based on actual demand given Grand Prix in November.

Durham, NC is getting the horribly named Springhill Suites Durham City View. This is silly because: 1. Durham does not have a skyline to view; 2. The location of the hotel means even if there WAS a skyline, you couldn't view it.

https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...ham-city-view/

Anyway it's supposed to open this month and it'll be a little south of the Durham Bulls ballpark right on the border between downtown and where Durham gets a little sketchy.
