Westin Margaret River Resort & Spa was announced last June; I just added it to the wiki.

Le Méridien Heliopolis in Cairo, Egypt has been pulled from the Marriott portfolio and websites. This was a wildly outdated hotel, but a legacy Le Méridien property nonetheless. Sad to see yet another one go.

A few new properties have popped up on the Marriott Website:

Glad to hear Westin is growing. I actually feel like they are in the need of a minor brand refresh and update. They feel a little stuck in 2013.

I can only imagine what has caused it to sit empty all these years. They just keep pushing the opening date over and over and over. I think the chances of it opening in September 2021 are slim. Maybe September 2031... You can see the structure here: http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=20...10.317790&z=20 Wikimapia got into an argument with Google maps, so there's a trick to disply the image. You need to go to the "Wikimapia Satellite" icon in the top right corner, click it, and then click the top left square icon that shows up, saying "Wikimapia Satellite." That will display the Google Earth imagery. :) |

Why would Marriott even bother to add a page for a hotel that's not projected to open for nine years? https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...-saraya-aqaba/ |

Of course the structure of the Westin Haikou has been sitting empty for a decade, as posted above. |

A new build Westin is slated to open in downtown Tempe, AZ in June '21. Will definitely be the top hotel proximate to ASU.

Wow and it's going to be right on Mill Avenue as well. Between that and the new Canopy by Hilton two blocks east Tempe has certainly changed as a hotel city since I graduated in 2006. Back then there was only a first generation CY and badly located 4P.
I'm really excited about the Westin, though. |
