Based on news from interfax Ukraine, the Aloft Kiev will leave Marriott on August 31st.Link (use Chrome/Google to translate)

The hotel only opened in 2018 and it was a nice option in Kiev to start some good airfare deals, so I hope that it will continue to exist.

Edited to add: I could not find the source message on interfax, so this may or may not be true. On the other hand, I can also not make a reservation via Marriott.com, but that does not say much either.
So the better choice in Kiev for now seems to be the 11 mirrors hotel if you want to stay with Marriott.

There will be a new Ritz Carlton and Westin (with residencies) in Manila, Philippines by end of 2021 assuming Covid hasn’t pushed back plans. The RC has been in the works for some time now, as it will be a rebranding of an existing Maxim hotel at Resorts World near Manila’s airport (where the newly opened Marriot and Sheraton are also located).

Can’t see this news in here but noticed that It has been announced by the owners that the former Six Senses Singapore properties will reopen in 2021 under Marriott’s Autograph Collection and be renamed as The Maxwell Reserve, Autograph Collection, and The Duxton Reserve, Autograph Collection.

Added to Wiki plus other Autograph Collection openings,

Also added upcoming Luxury Collection and JW Marriott hotels and modified some known opening dates plus confirmed some that have already opened.

Be nice if this could be made sticky aswell

The Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto will change name to The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike and become part of Autograph Collection starting October 9th. https://www.traicy.com/posts/20200916181937/?amp (couldn’t find anything in English).
It seems that this hotel will become the most reasonably priced Marriott property in Kyoto now that the Westin Miyako demands approximately three times the rates as compared to before the renovation. In view of that, welcome addition to the Marriott portfolio.

Two new Marriot properties in Bozeman, Montana:

Was looking for staycation properties in the SF Bay Area, and a new option came up in the search results - https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...land-downtown/

Moxy Oakland Downtown - 2225 Telegraph Ave (which is probably more accurately uptown), scheduled opening Jan 2021, Cat 5.

Interestingly, the description touts a complimentary continental breakfast, which as far as I know is more than the brand standard

Does anyone know if W Sydney is going to open at all?

Can't see any information about it on Marriott website

There's been a delay in construction, but it should open in Q1 or, most likely, Q2 2021. The property page will be accessible at this link; property code is SYDWH.

Interesting, this was a Westin back in the 80s and 90s, it was called The Westin Kyoto Takara-ga-ike Prince Hotel

I was searching the Toronto area and see that W Toronto is now scheduled to open Mar 2021. I also noticed a new Autograph Collection hotel opening Mar 2021 located in Burlington, ON, just west of Toronto - marriott.com/hotels/travel/yhmak-the-pearle-hotel-and-spa-autograph-collection/

I've updated the Wiki.

The Sheraton Stamford in Connecticut closed permanently on Thursday, news articles say it's going to be converted to apartments:

Marriott IT strikes again.

Aloft Guadaljara is gone for good, rebranded into an HS Hotsson property (smallish Mexican hotel group), but the website is still live:

https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...t-guadalajara/

Drove past today and the front entrance is under major renovation.

Not my favourite Aloft but was excellent for BRGs over the years.

Is there a list of the 122 Marriott family properties that are going to Sonesta:

https://www.hotelmanagement.net/tran...sonesta-growth

?

Apparently that's "two Marriotts, two Springhill Suites, 12 TownePlace Suites, 35 Residence Inns and 71 Courtyards in 31 states" which are going to be leaving the Marriott program!

(Something similar happened in the IHG program earlier this year.)
