I was wondering why it didn't show up in my hotel search today. Sad. Stayed there many times. Very convenient to DXB and to Sharjah and points north.

The Marriott website is now showing this as "Opening Soon June 2020", so appears to have a pretty significant delay.

Building has begun on what should be the Marriott Geneva Airport (though not formally announced yet). Should open around 2021.

Also, Moxy will open a 123 room hotel at Lyon Airport in 2021.

Springhill Suites Pittsburgh Airport has been divested. It is now The "SummitSuite Pittsburgh Airport". The TripAdvisor Reviews are awful. Looks like the property never rennovated and got deflagged. Plenty of other Marriott options in the nearby area so no great loss.

Currently, the closest Marriott Bonvoy properties to Chester, UK, are the Aloft Liverpool and the Liverpool Marriott Hotel City Centre. Two properties are coming to Chester, UK.

A 194-room Moxy Hotel is under construction in Chester, UK:

There's yet another Starriott/Bonvoy property coming to the Bloomington strip along I-494 going west from the airport and past the MOA:

An element is under construction (according to a sign on the fence) on what seems to be the same lot as the AC Bloomington (next to MOA) and a small strip of several modest restaurants. For people who know the area, the construction zone would be in "South Loop" along the east side of 24th Avenue (I-494 exit) about a half block south of Lindau Lane, essentially diagonally across the little outdoor parking lot from the AC and stuck into what looks like a small footprint between the AC's parking garage (= "ramp" in Minnesotan) and the huge MOA parking ramp across 24th Street that's close to Sears (RIP soon).

It's too soon to guess how many stories or when the element will open.

UPDATE: It looks like it's going to be about ten or twelve stories. The element now appears when you search for hotels in Minneapolis and uncheck the "available only" box. Scheduled opening is June 2020 and there's the skeleton of a website, but the picture shows a generic three story element somewhere and is not a rendering of the actual buildng.

It will have an indoor pool and the usual fully equipped rooms/studios/suites with kitchens for extended stays. There will presumably be free parking with a small number of surface spaces plus a garage shared with the AC and several F&B restaurants (in a small strip mall in the parking lot roughly between the hotels) although unfortunately not connected. There are some pleasant outdoor seating areas in the area, although it looks like most of the element rooms will have views of either the shared parking garage or a very ugly parking garage at MOA. Some of the end rooms to the north and east will look toward a nature reserve.

BTW except for an quite nice element in the suburbs west along I-90 and a few blocks to the north of the interstate) of Fargo ND, this is the only one in the upper midwest. It will arguably be the closest hotel to MOA, although the shortest walk toward the mall through the ugly parking garage arrives next to the closed Sears store; other hotels are slightly closer to interesting areas of MOA.

It will be interesting to see whether this hotel offers shuttle service to/from MSP airport (and MOA) since I have been told that the AC has eliminated their shuttle. One would hope that a shared service would work.

I have found no proof yet but I have a feeling that the Courtyard Tokyo Ginza is on the way out. No availability whatsoever next year... anyone know more?

There's a new construction Courtyard by Marriott being built on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. It's part of a much larger mixed use development with retail, two apartment buildings, and a multi-story parking garage. The current name is Quantum Courtyard by Marriott in Flagler Village.

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...89ff7432bb.jpg

Looks like they will have a variety of guest room floorplans, including some long ones that might be considered junior suites. A small number of rooms on the front side will have balconies. That side of the building overlooks a busy road. If you are up a few floors, you might get a view of the homeless people living in Holiday Park across the street.

Images come from the developer's website. Click the link for a site plan as well as other floorplans for the hotel.

The address for the hotel will be 723 N Federal Highway. For anyone familiar with the area, it's across the street from the Holiday Park Activity Center. It's adjacent the Mexican restaurant that is housed in what I believe was an old gas station or auto mechanic.

Probably because a new AC Hotel is being built next door and the CY staff will move over.

In spring of 2020, the American-based Marriott Hotel Chain, in collaboration with Mori Trust, will be opening The Tokyo Edition Ginza at Ginza 2-chome. A second Marriott -- AC Hotel by Marriott Tokyo Ginza -- to be operated in partnership with Tobu Railway Co Ltd, expects to open by summer 2020 at Ginza 6-chome.

Planning a trip to Budapest I researched new hotel openings in this beautiful city and came across an article from April this year announcing plans for a new 5-star hotel in the Autograph collection https://dailynewshungary.com/new-5-s...e-in-budapest/. Visiting last week I checked out the location, which is right next to the casino.

I also found an article from 2017 announcing plans for a W hotel https://welovebudapest.com/en/toplis...e-near-future/. Somehow I don't think that 2020 opening is going to happen....but the building looks gorgeous!

Status of the new W hotel Osaka currently under construction
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2b6c8abf1f.jpg

The architect is Tadao Ando, Osaka's most famous architectural son, though it doesn't have any of his signature concrete features, externally at least.
Location is on Midosuji Avenue, a very classy street, the adjacent building is a Ferrari dealership. It's a couple of blocks down and across the street from the St Regis.
Hoarding outside the building had nothing more helpful than 'open 2021'.
