Their pages are still active at Marriott.com. Usually, when a hotel leaves, the pages vanish immediately.

Google searches show both hotels seem to be closed at the moment.

Maybe the brand transition hasn't happened yet?

And the pages for the individual hotels have vanished in the 24 hours since I posted the links above. Definitely gone. :)

Four Seasons Dallas-Las Colinas Resort to Rebrand as Ritz-Carlton (January 2023)

Looks like the current Four Seasons Dallas-Las Colinas Resort 4S Homepage will become a Ritz Carlton as of January 1, 2023. It was previously announced that the hotel would no longer be a Four Seasons after the new year (presumably to make room for the new Four Seasons opening up near downtown), but reports now coming out the new owners have picked Ritz-Carlton for the new flag. Solid resort that I've visited a number of times, so it will be nice to finally earn some points there. It also sounds like the owners are planning some significant upgrades. I've always wondered why the current owners and Four Seasons didn't invest more in this property. It's the only 5-star resort property in Texas and has been able to charge absurdly high prices for as long as I can remember. I imagine a nice renovation will push those rates even higher.

When did this property open?

I'm staying for one night in June on an award booking and I can't seem to find any reviews or digital footprint at all beyond the official website; no photos on tripadvisor, etc. Also, can anyone tell me what category it's listed at?

It opened on Monday, April 18, 2022. Dynamic redemption, so no more categories. Don't think twice about staying here. Staff is top grade.

Does anyone have any more information on the Le Meridien in Hualien, Taiwan?

Originally scheduled for 2018, delayed until 2020, then pushed back because of Covid, we are now looking at a July 2022 opening.

JW Marriott Munich seems to be coming in 2023, on the location formerly occupied by the Hotel Königshof on Karlsplatz.

JW Marriott Tokyo announced for spring 2025, opening in a mixed-use development between the 22nd and 30th floors of a new tower between Shinagawa and Tamachi stations.

Frankly, I'm bored of these JWs - talk about a brand that's lost and doesn't stand for anything other than carrying the founder's name. Supposedly luxury, trying to be super premium but isn't, redid its logo innumerable times in the last ten years and is now trying a wellness slant ŕ la Westin - oy. What a mess. I'd much rather see a W Tokyo or Le Méridien Tokyo than another Marriott+.

Let's agree to disagree about this statement. I highly prefer a "boring", contemporary luxury JW to a pseudo-hip, botched and cheaply built W hotel that often attracts a crowd I honestly don't enjoy socializing with. Once you stayed at your first W, you've seen them all, along with all their flaws. I agree that some JWs (mostly in North America) are physically older properties, but usually they are well looked after and still enjoyable. Asia and the Middle East on the other hand have some phenomenal JW's. I recently had the pleasure of staying back to back at the JW Marquis Dubai and the W Palm Dubai as well as back to back at the JW Chicago and the W Chicago. I wasn't blown away by either of those W nor some others that I visited (Barcelona, Abu Dhabi and Scottsdale come to mind). In short, get me two more JW options for every new W

In other news, the College Hotel Amsterdam will join Autograph Collection in June.

Looking forward to this new build, currently scheduled to be completed at the end of 2023. Not huge, at 108 rooms, but it will feature a rooftop bar. A Spanish architectural firm is doing the design.

Yep, a poster gave word about that a while back, but there was no date at the time:

Before the pandemic all occupants (the hotel, the residential apartments, the two clinics and about a dozen doctor offices) were given notice that the buidling was supposed to be demolished and rebuilt in 2023-25 and that they have to move out. Earlier this year this was moved to 2025 and now to 2030.

As a result the work on fixing the building will start/resume next spring. At the same time the sheraton property will be rebanded as a four points to reflect the lower standards.

Looks like the date is now June.
