It's been awhile since I bought a mo using a MGC at Kroger. Two days ago tried to buy a mo for $479 at Kroger but got declined. I reset the pin and made a small grocery purchase then tried for $478 but still no go. Someone mentioned here that it is $469 now. Is that for both mgc and vgc? Tia!

Do you mean Pathward serviced by BHN. And on top of that, is it MC only and not V?

Ok, I was able to get a MC (Pathward/BHN) to work for $469 total. Thank you to Neo who let me on to this amount. I'm just going to use my Visa (Pathward/BHN) on prop taxes and call it a day and know to get MC if I want to be able to liquidate it, at least while it works. I don't know anything about the differences between MC and V in this context, perhaps someone in the industry knows, and perhaps it's user error for why I cannot get V to work ((if someone can confirm a V (Pathward/BHN) for $469 that would be great)). My chase card offers have also been flooded with regional grocers that sell these so I can cash out for 1.25x on my PYB with no fees.

I’m getting declines when trying to drain a seasoned Path/Incomm card (single swipe). The card gets put ON HOLD and I have to call in for replacement which is annoying. In my area only a single swipe usually works with Incomms, but lately I’m seeing this problem more often at different WMs. Has anyone facing this issue, or found a reliable workaround?

Ive never tried vanilla gc at Walmart because I read somewhere the Walmart rejects vanilla cards many years ago.

I've had this happen on my last 3 load attempts (to Serve) within the past week. I had been sailing along quite smoothly with $499 loads for the past year and a half. Something has definitely changed, and I suspect they (PW/IC) have lowered the limit once again. I haven't had a chance to figure out any workarounds yet, but my plan for my next outing is trying a $500 load split between two cards ($250 each).

Several of my previously friendly WMs now want to see the cards up front, and at least two told me that Moneygram reps came and spent a few hours behind the counter with them. So I'm avoiding MOs and limiting myself to Discover and BB loads as much as possible, since the loads *usually* get less scrutiny.

Based on my experience and other posts in this and other threads, there seems to be a velocity limit of one card every 5 or 10 minutes. I expect your first swipe will fail and lock the card, and if it miraculously succeeds, the your second swipe will fail (don't know if will lock the card). My strategy is to expect the first card to fail and lock, say "let me try again" and swipe a second card to deliberately lock it, then leave to "call my bank". That way at least, one phone call will get me two replacement cards that work for the full $500 at any WM.

Second of all, if there are velocity limits, how does the first card fail? Are you saying that you can't get any cards to load to MOs, so you're purposely locking them so you can get replacements? I've never had any problem swiping 2 or 3 VVGCs for 1 or 2 MOs. For example: $1000 and $498 MOs paid for with 3 vgcs swiped for $499 each, plus $2 cash for the fees - all in one transaction. Also, in my part of the country WM MOs are issued by WU, not MG. So, I really have no idea what you're talking about, and I liquidate a minimum of $10k in VVGCs via Serve/MOs at WMs every month.

Just because you haven't encountered it, doesn't make what his experience is not true.
At least he states he is near Sacramento, CA.
Where exactly is your part of the country?
