Not directly, no. But if you have normal rewards and Monopoly rewards (or multiple Monopoly awards) you can potentially end up with a larger negative balance than usual effectively use them to buy Visa or Amazon. I rarely try to just get a refund because in my experience, more often than not it ends up with a voided transaction.

Same situation in my area with Shaws and Star Market stores.

For the 2x $100 deal, is it possible to load exactly $100 on two variable cards?

My safeway took away all the old VISA variable cards. The shelf now has a lot of empty slots. Why was that?

Same here. Central California. It's been like this for the past 2-3 weeks.

Hope that's local. I also have some making up to do with my Chase Freedom Unlimited come July, after June's 5x Chase United bonus on groceries. Worse case, I suppose I could get Amazon GCs.

Hope it is local. It's only a small part of my MS, but I'll do about $25k to get 10x platinum/5x freedom in 3 months this month. It'd be a shame to lose that.

If it's anything like Acme on the east coast, they will be replacing them with new cards that have different packaging before long

Do you mind sharing how you liquidate the gift cards you buy? I am just assuming it is Visa Gift Cards, but it could be HD or BBY for all I know. I've been using buying groups but they are slow going for me at least. Whenever I get a chance to use a still working Safeway company money center for gift card Money Orders, I prefer to use my $1000 Simons there versus $200 VGCs (fewer swipes/fewer questions).

Thanks.

Maybe because they were coding as 22x points so they got bought up.

My local Safeway in the Seattle area has been out of variables for 3+ weeks now as well. I've noticed reduced inventory at other stores as well.
