I got Not Authorized message at Albertson’s in DFW yesterday on two different SMGC’s. I was able to unload them at Tom Thumb (Safeway) but I’m guessing the clock is ticking on all the Albertsons/Safeway affiliated stores.

It's time to get vanilla ice cream for nothing, groceries for free.

Just a friendly reminder to always check that the card numbers on the packaging for Vanilla matches what is shown on the little window.
I picked up a compromised Vanilla today at an Acme in NJ. Noticed one of the GCs I was buying had a higher fee of $6.95 while in line for the checkout. Quickly went to grab another with the $5.95 fee and made the schoolboy error of not comparing the # in the window to the # on the package. Low and behold, upon opening it there was a cut card in the window in front of the actual card. Incomm was able to put a hold on the card since I caught it quickly before it was drained.
First time in thousands of cards, guess it was bound to happen.

do SS cards at times need 1 full day to be active for MO or BB loading?
earlier today tried to load 4 SS vgc to amex & visa BB @ WM in MC about 2 hrs after purch, but all failed with 'debit not available' for $500 each... cards r active with a full balance then

I've been having problems with SS at WM, too. One card worked and one card didn't the last time I was there. I think the door is closing on these cards.

I bought 2 SS cards, one each at a retailer, but separated by about 45 minutes between purchases.
I then immediately went to WM looking to get one $999 MO but only the card purchased first worked. I bailed
The next day, both cards worked. Given the 45 minute interval between one card working and the other not, I surmise that the activation delay was around 1 hour or so.

Yes, it is usually about an hour to actuvate even if you call in earlier and it says the card is active but on a few occasions it took longer.
I had the same thing happen a week ago.

My cards were bought together in the same transaction and only one of them worked at WM. I tried the non working card at a grocery store and it worked there.

There are probably a half dozen different types of packaging now. Teal gift, "you're awesome", "celebrate", and more. The one with the $6.95 fee IIRC was gold. Haven't gotten any of those, so can't comment as to whether they work like SS cards do.

Why spend the extra $2 for a card that may not work versus one that does??
