Why is the A380 not included in the OP? Is it because all A380s have been converted to new F?
Were upstream posters referencing new F on A380 not understanding this bit of knowledge which lucky writes: "Lufthansa actually has two 'new' first class products, the other of which can be found on their Airbus aircraft, including the Airbus 380 I flew from Frankfurt to Tokyo a couple of months ago." Or perhaps they were accidentally being ambiguous? Or perhaps, Randy-forbid, lucky was wrong?

Lucky was referring to the new hard F product on the 744 which is completely different from the new F on the A380/A340/330: not a single seat, but a pairing of a seat and a bed.

New First class seat LH 498 on the 05th May
Hi Everyone
I will fly on the 05th May from Frankfurt-Mexico City in F, How I will know if I will have the new First Class seat ? also if anyone is flying in the same route/flight and want to enjoy the FCT or FCL let me know soon.
Any comments ?

1) Board the plane and see what there is
2) Look at the website of FRA airport on the day of departure and see which aircraft has been assigned, compare it to the list in post 1 of this thread
3) Know somebody at LH fleet assignment who might know a little earlier (nobody arround here)
2 and 3 are subject to change on short notice...

Three ways to find out:

2) Look at the website of FRA airport on the day of departure and see which aircraft has been assigned, compare it to the list in post 1 of this thread

In any case, in the UD of a 744, with the double seat/bed and max 8 pax it can never be a bad experience.

You could see past statistics and see what your chances are, which would at least give you hope, but you literally won't know until some hours before. Keep an eye on the FRA airport's homepage, Departures, as it tracks the serial # of the plane that is scheduled to fly the route, but that's only valid about 8 hours ahead or so.

This is a continuation of an earlier thread, New First class retrofit info, which has become quite lengthy and difficult to read. I will try and keep the first post updated as much as possible.
===============
Status as of 22 April 2012
747 : 10 retrofitted so far:
D-ABVC, D-ABVH, D-ABVK, D-ABVL, D-ABVM, D-ABVN, D-ABVO, D-ABVP, D-ABVR and D-ABVS.
There are currently 28 B747s all based in FRA. 2 have left the fleet at the beginning of 2012. 4 more are expected to leave the fleet during 2012.

The first post has the serial #s of the 10 retrofitted 747s. If you are seeing one that is NOT on that list, then it's the old F (example - any that start with D-ABT*).
