A330 - 200 YUL to AMS. Only middle rows, middle seats, left in economy comfort, so took 21A/B. Do EC seats ever open up at OLCI?
I usually book early enough to get a nice window EC seat, cannot bear the thought of being in a middle seat in the middle rows, too claustrophobic. But 31" pitch doing nothing for me either.

This is sort of a seating question, because I am platinum and usually get offered an economy comfort seat on flights within Europe. I have booked a trip starting tomorrow with my partner, both on the same PNR, booked directly with KLM not through an OTA. Two separate check-in emails have been sent to me, one for each passenger. Is it possible to check in both passengers at the same time, or do we have to do it separately? The issue is that while I am offered a comfort seat, my partner will not be (SU base member). The other option is just to check in at the airport tomorrow morning (GVA). Will we risk being seated separately?

We were offered seats near the front of Economy for the first outbound flight, but we fled to the rear (at my instigation) because of a sick person. The rear was pleasantly empty. Why do they jam everyone into seats near the front? Maybe a big group missed the flight. For the Cityhopper flight to Nice we were seated together further back, perfectly ok seats, pleasant flight.
Coming back, I checked us in online and accepted the seats in row 17. The flight was totally jammed, which was less great (I offered my partner the window seat on all flights and took the middle). All the same, I yet again enjoyed the Beemster sandwich catering, which paired well with the South African Chenil Blanc.

The aircraft was a 737-700, which happened to fly both sectors that I flew yesterday (NCE-AMS-TXL), but with different crews. The crew were totally cool about changing seats, didn’t tell people to sit in their original seats for landing. KLM crews are generally pretty nice and cool anyway.

Best Business Seats 747-400
Hi Wondering if there are opinions on the best seats for a single traveller on the 747. Was looking at 1A, but always enjoy the upper deck and not sure I will get another chance to fly one of these. I booked through Delta and their seat map shows 72A as a single seat, but SeatGuru does not. Thanks for your comments!

While I've not travelled on the upper deck, I'd assume bulkhead seats have a bigger foot rest like on the lower deck/777 and therefore they would be my choice for a night flight.

Hello I'll be flying from Istanbul (IST) to Amsterdam (AMS) soon on a KL1614 flight 737-800. I will have had a hair transplant so my head will be bandaged up and very sensitive. I'm also tall and wide shouldered. I'll also be travelling with my mother. I'm trying to figure out the best seats for us. Sadly Economy Comfort seats are taken but all exit row seats are available. From my understanding row 16 is best, however I'm reading that the seats are slightly narrower than other economy seats, is this true? I also understand that nothing can be stowed underneath with these seats which isn't a huge deal. Any advice please?

My AMS-PTY flight was schedule to be a 787-10, but just got switched to a 777-200. I got moved to 6A, on the smaller J cabin. Should I stick with the seat, or should I move towards the main J cabin?
I've read reviews that the crew tend to forget about passengers seating on the smaller cabin.

If there is no traffic, it is a more quiet part of J than the part in front. Staff won't forget about you.
The only thing to keep in mind is that you've lost direct aisle access with your new seat: all 787-10 seats have direct aisle access and in the 777s only the middle seats ensure you don't have to climb over someone else or vice versa. To avoid this, you might want to change to one of the middle seats (D/G). Sometimes 6D/G on the KL 777s are blocked until OLCI for babies, but you can call and ask for these seats when they're blocked.

A question on J seat availability. One day before OLCI of my flight opens, Expertflyer shows the following availability and some seats available at the seat map. A couple of hours before OLCI, availability of booking classes stays the same, but the seat map shows 10 'blocked' seats in J.

After OLCI opened, the seat map disappears from expertflyer (as usual) but still shows in my KLM app with 0 availability. Also not possible to upgrade from Y to J with miles or cash and availability at expertflyer is now 0. So it seems that somehow right at the moment of OLCI all seats that have been blocked just before OLCI are now booked. I see this happen more often, but it could be just a coincidence that at the exact moment when OLCI opens 10 Y pax decide to take an upgrade offer, but that still doesn't explain why the seats would be blocked beforehand.
Any ideas on why just before check-in opens KL would block 10 seats in biz while there seems to be availability to book, and why this availability goes to 0 right after OLCI opens? Could these be seats from staff with a DoD upgrade that clears somehow?

Just looking at KL757 (AMS-PTY) on 12/12/2020 and I see that the seat map looks very strange. On J, 11 seats are blocked, and on Y, all but 4 seats are available. On ExpertFlyer I'm getting the following error:
Any knows what happened? Flight possibly going to get cancelled?
There was an error message from the airline when trying to retrieve this seat map: PRS NOT ALLOWED THIS CLASS OR ZONE
