What's a "Deluxe" room? is it just a generic name for a run of the house room? (i.e you can end up with any room, TS view/City view etc...)

I have been extremely lucky with this hotel and ended up in floors 43-45 every time now, with a room facing Times Square.

I recommend it highly.

Under what circumstances do Plats get free breakfast? This would be an advantage over IC Times Square if true.

Thanks.....

We're here now using a free night (platinum status). There is no lounge, as others have said. We got upgraded to a corner room, which is quite nice. The views are quite good. The internet is not so nice and in fact is unusable.

Breakfast was not offered for free, but they did offer a reduced rate of $10/person each day.

Our room had no fridge.

They also didn't allow late check-out, which was a first for me as a platinum member.

This seems to be the cheapest decent chain hotel room I can find for my overnight in NY - $134++. Worth it at that rate? Seems suspiciously low compared to some of the conversations here...

(I'm broadly statusless - staying here would bump me to Silver...)

Very cheap indeed (for any hotel in NYC)
And of course for a centrally located CP recently renovated (even if yhere are much better options if you are looking for a hotel with character).

If the price is really that low book or immediately.

I stayed there for three nights in April and had a blast.

I used points but the rack rate was over $350/night in April.

Sadly not that low. Go to book and they quietly add an unspecified "service charge" of $ 27.22

Not that it's not still relatively cheap, but I can find cheaper options than $185. At $160 it was altogether more appealing.

If you have status with IHG you can likely get the service charge waived. I am just gold but they waived it for me when I stayed here last February. I just called and asked after I booked the reservation.

Currently staying here on a PC credit card anniversary night. I'm plat status, at check in they gave us 3 drink vouchers (one for each person staying) and 3 vouchers for a discounted brunch (normal price $32, voucher gets it for $10). Put on an "elite" floor (29).

And you chose CP instead of IC because...?
