Free drinks only on paid night, also includes free Nespresso coffee capsules. Nespresso machine is in the room and the capsules are not free if you are not RA on paid nights. I suggest coffee lovers who stay on reward nights to bring their own Nespresso coffee capsules. Hotel charges $4 or 5 per capsule if I remember correctly.

A couple of years ago, during a paid stay with the RA status, I was charged for the Nespresso capsules. I was told that they were not included in the free mini bar amenity, but argued about the ambiguity and the lack of prior information, then got them removed from the bill. The policy might have changed, though.

and you might get a better one, although the bungalows are all the same
anyway, it's just the view/location.
I wouldn't stay in the garden room in this hotel, no way.
It's better to go to Le Moana.
But Thalasso is way nicer and newer, just got some renovation done.
It's a spectacular hotel/location, don't let the silly rules ruin
your experience. If you got stuck in the garden bungalow,
it would be quite horrible, like staying in a laundry room
instead of XVIth century room in a grand Paris hotel...

It's a shame this thread shifted towards discussing
the reward stays/garden bungalow situation only as this is an amazing hotel
and an amazing island. This is my old picture taken a few years ago
from a helicopter. We've been there a few times and we are coming
back later this year. Yes, the Four Seasons and St Regis are "betterer",
and the FS is our preferred hotel now, but we still are gonna
squeeze in a few nights at Thalasso, maybe for sentimental reasons only

It's hard to answer your question without knowing your status with IHG. Are you a regular AMB, RA or just PC Plat ?

Especially if you are staying on a Friday + Saturday or Saturday + Sunday. The free weekend night might not work out cheaper than booking two nights on points, but it reduces the risk of being stuck on land. And if you tack on points nights on the end, you may well get to keep the room you complete your weekend stay in for those points nights.
