Kudos to the staff for working out a fair deal.

And thank you to the forum member who helped me out above with the request.

Now, what are some of your guys favorite sapphire rooms to request?

I hear 103 is right next to diamond, but how are the views?

Deeper or shallow sapphire better? North or south wing? Inside or outside?

So many possibilities lol!
Bump

Any most preferred sapphire rooms I should request?

TIA

103 is not next to diamond. it's an Emerald room. AVOID 100.

Assume you want further out.
208 is left branch of left Y - you get more of a 'endless ocean' view, with a bit of island on your right. if u like that
234/233/232 is right branch of left Y
106/107/108 is left branch of right Y
I stayed at 108 (furthest one out, same as 234) - these two are usually the preferred
127 might not be bad either.
avoid right branch of right Y - not much to see.

so basically

108/234 if u can get it
208 if u like ocean view
233/107, 232/106, 127 - all good

Do you think they'll let us climb on the roof or deck railing and jump in the water?

Someone on here said the water is 20ft at some parts. I would obviously request that room. And FTR, I wouldn't cannonball.

I didn't find this information anyway, so I'd appreciate people who stayed at Thalasso sharing:

Do Nespresso machines in the rooms use Nespresso Business flat pods

or home capsules?

Thanks!

NO CANNONBALLING!

i stayed for 7 nights in Easter 2012 when 25% of villas were out of action for a refurb. i did BOGO on a Sapphire and 5 nights on points (40,000).
I emailed the hotel a few times and made the offer to forgo Saphire if they would guarantee an Emerald IN ADVANCE which they agreed to. I requested 206 and that was the one i got. ALL VILLAS ARE THE SAME EXCEPT FOR VIEWS.

If you are considering staying at this hotel please TAKE THE TIME to read through all the previous pages. Yes its a lot of reading but most things have been covered. so many tips for maximising your stay and keeping the costs down etc

few quick tips
1)TAKE THE BOAT TOUR - sharks/snorkelling round the island.amazing.
2) refill your water at the gym for free
3) have breakfast as late as you can and eat a lot at breakfast - no need for lunch!
4) go to Le Meridien for the turtles , a change of scenery , lunch. kayak over!
5) bring money its expensive!
6) Enjoy its amazing! It took me four flights to get there from Ireland and was worth it!

FYI - I was kicked out of Le Meridiean by a rather large woman security guard.

We kayaked over from Thalasso as I read about on this forum, were having a good time in the turtle sanctuary, and then this giant woman ejected us and escorted us back to our kayaks.

When we got to the kayaks on the shore where we left them, she had taken our oars and hidden them in her security booth, like she was trying to make sure we couldn't leave without getting in trouble from her first!

We laughed about it and still got to see the turtles, so it was all good..

Just a warning to others though, it was kind of embarrassing.

Is there a path to get from the Thalasso over to the Le Meridien instead of kayaking? Is there a fence between these two resorts or just vegetation? We will be staying at the Thalasso, but want to visit the Bora Bora Turtle Center which happens to be at the next door resort.

We were able to do that, years ago, but had to face some dogs, that were quite protective of their territory.
According to the Thalasso, Le Meridien stopped the possibility to go from one property to the other, and are not too friendly when the request is made.

I was able to contact the Turtle Center. I can make reservations with the center directly for a visit. Evidently, they must inform the resort when you are expected. The center seems like a worthwhile education project and I believe in helping the turtle population increase in FP.
