0008000501565 - direct dial - India call.

Usually 3-5 days. So you should get it any time now.

I would use the app - but *be careful*, as you can inadvertently transfer to another program as the app is so hopeless...

When using app I think points are converted faster.

Another downgrade on the Citi Prestige. The complimentary Taj Inner Circle Silver membership has been replaced by the Epicure Preferred (the lower of two tiers) membership instead. Instead of earning points on stays, restaurant spends etc, you now receive a 25% discount on F&B. Plus some stuff like complimentary one-night stay in a base-level category room, and a near-worthless 20% off on best-available-rate bookings. What stings is, this is the lower of the two Epicure tiers. The Privileged tier has a couple of additional throw-ins - tea-time access to a Taj hotel club lounge twice a year, an add-on card for your spouse, and some other benefits are enhanced (two complimentary nights as against one on the Preferred, etc).

So you lose membership to the Taj's real loyalty programme and the ability to earn points on spends, and get a dubious bouquet of "benefits" instead.

The card itself is a cheap and nasty thin plastic one with abrasive edges.

Also, does anyone know if the happy hours at Taj bars has been withdrawn? Can't see any mention of it in the Epicure or Inner Circle T&Cs.

Apologies if this has all been mentioned and discussed here before.

Just an FYI - got some info that a bidder for the Citi card business has been approved, so expect changes sometime soon, I would gather...

"Tea time access"...

This downgrade has been done by Taj. It was a crappy program to begin with that's become even more crappy. Removed Taj Silver. However they've increased the F&B discount now. It was 50% for 3 times via TIC points. Now it's 25% (I think direct discount) but unlimited. Plus the Saloon, Qmin & Spa discounts...

You got the free stay and high tea vouchers? You're not supposed to get those as part of the credit card-Epicure scheme!

No, I didn't. I was saying that we don't even get things like the lounge access with the complimentary Epicure Preferred membership we get via Citi. We do get one night free in a base-category room with the Epicure Preferred. Two with the Epicure Privileged. https://www.tajhotels.com/en-in/epicureprogram/

The discount on F&B is the same. Under TIC Silver you used to get 25% of your spend back in the form of TIC points all year round and 50% for the first three transactions of the membership year. On bar spends you'd get one drink for every one you bought during happy hours, plus 25% of your spend back in the form of points. No wonder they withdrew it!

I sent the miles to the wrong airline. Called them up straightaway but they said they would look into it. Can they normally stop the transfer?
