Luckily I got miles for this transaction :)
What card was this? As normally when I get a credit they take away the miles too. Over the summer I got some $1000 worth of Tax refunds and Citi took away the miles for them from my account even though I did not use the credit card to make a purchase in the first place. |

yet another gem from the intelligent people at jet airways....i just checked in for a bbi-bom flight & there are two colleagues traveling with me....they were both in economy so during check-in i asked if we could use the 'airport upgrade' feature to upgrade them both....
the agent tried but couldn't seem to make it work....he asked me to wait & went to his manager....after 10 minutes of confusion i am told that the airport upgrade is not available today....i asked if that was because there were no seats available....he said the flight was not full & infact i was the only passenger in business but the upgrade feature was not being offered today.... i asked to speak with the manager....i asked him what sense it made to let the seats go empty & that i was ready to pay to upgrade my two colleagues....but the answer was 'no', although he did say i could use my vouchers if i wanted....so at the end of the day, jet would rather the seats go empty than get some revenue against it....well done jet.... |

So my mother decided - last minute as usual - that she wants to go to London next week. Of course, doing the tickets is my job, so I was put to work.
Something must be going on, because very nearly every airline has obscene fares in business, or is completely sold out. Everyone except Air India. So whilst BA and LX (and even AF/DL) are demanding over Rs 2,00,000, if they have availability, that is, our Rashtriya Bhikari has seats available for Rs 95,000. Tell me again why this airline continues to exist? (She refused to fly AI, by the way). |

Oh very good for the customer.
But others are charging much more than double and still managing to sell out. AI, with bargain fares, go out with unsold seats (unsold does not mean unoccupied). People don't want to fly AI, so they slash fares. People still don't want to fly AI. And we bankroll the hopeless, flying bloodsucker. |

Besides, if it's okay for AI to get the taxpayers to buy them new efficient planes to replace the fuel-guzzling 747s, then it's okay for said taxpayers to get rid of the cash-guzzling AI by any means necessary. |
