Just in comparison, I spent the afternoon with my two team colleagues estimating how March and Q2 will go, and did FT whenever my excel crashed because somehow the office 2003 version hated the SAP BI report addin and powerpoint excel graph OLEs being open at the same time*. Got it completed at the 4th attempt, went home one hour late to a wife with migraine and hungry kids. Another colleague labored till midnight to get it all right and send to our boss in PVG so he can forward it to the big boss. Guess what? This morning we discover that our efforts were lauded, but the powerpoint was condensed down to six high/lowlight lines because the others had reported the same way and our leader didn't want to look very flashy in comparison.
And thus motivated we begin the last working day of the week... * finally moving from office 2003 and XP to office 2010 and Win 7 in 5 weeks :p |

It makes so much difference. My Windows 7 used to take around a 1min30 seconds to boot and stop loading programs in the back ground. Now it takes 20 seconds. Excel would take 10 seconds to open up after double click now it takes 1-2 secs. ^^ |
Ha! Sadly I don't get much say in the config of my work laptop, its basically 'do you want the the little one or the big one'. Since I'm otherwise well endowed I choose the 'little one' and it seems the current little one is a 12.5" Dell Latitude E6230, which will replace my old 13.3" E4300 :D The joys of working for a large corporation. :p
At home I don't have a pure SSD but a hybrid Seagate drive: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Moment.../dp/B003NSBF32 This thing is awesome (if I may use US lingo for a moment), it stores the stuff you regularly need in the SSD part and the computer zooms along. The drive has been around for two years, but only recently apple launched the same logic for its desktops and the pundits have been wetting themselves in joy like a dog that apple managed to generate such awes:rolleyes:me innovation. Sadly my desktop at home is now approaching 7 years of age, so the poor motherboard is overwhelmed by all the upgrades I've added over the years. :( |

I am also now using the 12.5' Dell Latitude 6230, and am quite happy with it. This little one is way more useful than the earlier big bulky one. And way better to travel with. Like a wise man once said, it isn't all about size, it is also what you do with it. Giggity. :p ;) |

i've taken about a dozen ai domestic flights in 2013 so far....none of them were even close to being full in business....twice i was the only passenger in business....so i don't think its a bad thing to reduce the number of business seats as they don't seem to be filling them up in any case....
