F? What route?

I haven't seen it on any A380 routes, but 777 is bookable as a connection only. For example, PHX-FRA (via JFK) works, but JFK-FRA does not. Only connections to domestic US Airways work - UA does not, as LifeMiles does not allow mixed-class redemption.

I'm not quite sure what the logic is which governs this availability yet. Play around with the system a bit, and you'll find it ;) There are some clues on the Trick-it thread in the LifeMiles forum.

I read on Wiki, JW became a member of Star, but I don't find their logo on the website

Why? The best time to book awards in my opinion is when expecting IRROPS - the traveler gets rebooked into a revenue class.

That didn't happen with a recent UA mileage ticket that I requested to be rebooked.

Earlier it did happen - but not recently.

CO making sure to keep all money-losing opportunities under control, I gather...

So you are saying one can get PHX-FRA on SQ F?

PHX-JFK would be in US F, JFK-FRA in SQ F.

That's horrible :eek::td::td::td:

At least airlines don't have that option when endorsing to OALs.

Other Air Lines.

When UA endorses you to US, LH, LX, etc., they don't reissue in an award class.

Nope, they managed to get this done on an LH award, with *no* O-class available on LH!! :mad:

Wow. That's amazing if it works. ^ Can you see any dates that it comes up on?

Huh. Well, that doesn't make any sense, since award ticket coupons don't have any value (well, they do in terms of Star Alliance funny money, but that's a different story). When an award ticket is reissued into full Y/C/F, the reissuing carrier becomes responsible for 50% of the one-way fare, despite the fact that there is an award coupon underneath.

If UA reissued a ticket into LH O class, then it is responsible for (50% of) $0, since O class is valueless. For this reason, the receiving carrier (in this case LH) generally wouldn't accept the ticket, since they don't want to be flying around other airlines' customers for "free" (Star Alliance funny money).

The only reason I can think of that this would have worked is they might have an agreement as part of the UA-LH Joint venture. But this is highly annoying :td: Not only do I have to go after an OAL reroute from now on, I have to go after a non-JV partner too :( :(
