How many times has this happened to you? If you are at the gate and IRROPS happen, then one can get this, but if IRROPS happens in advance then I have never been able to get this over the phone. Methinks you have been lucky.

I normally don't bother to find out flight status until I get to the airport anyway. Airport agents have much more flexibility with rebooking than the call center anyway.

This strategy wouldn't work so well if I was flying into rural 1-flight a day type airports, but for the major metros where I usually fly, it works great.

You mean to say that Air India hand out points to fly for free just because there are IRROPS (which is 98.25% of the time, given it's Air India - on-time arrival counts as IRROPS at AI)?

And then those points can be used to fly even more free flights? Not that there's any need to use points to "commute" for free, but still.

Not that it all matters at the end of the day, because we all know the pecking order at AI.

We were talking about Star Alliance airlines. AI has different policies

Haven't heard this one before... I'll have to look it up. Do remember listening to Woh Kagaz Ki Kashti as a 4-5 year old when my dad put it on. And then went through a phase while in college where I'd listen to Jagjit Singh and Ghulam Ali all the while.

I guess you are not the only one. Since I was one of the few college mates to have my own place my classmates used to get drunk at my place and give me bad renditions of the above about 3 nights a week...

Upthread I talked about this and as an update I think I finally found something similar to Masala puri. Its called hot samosa chaat. Unfortunately this one chaat is $5 while others have been $2 so a bit of a damper.

Now you have got me salivating for a bowl of this mighty fine product :)
