Does anyone know of a way to send money to India automatically every month? There are several companies that can send money, but none of them have an option to make it recurring. Only ICICI has such a feature. However if you need to cancel it you have to manually cancel each and every future transfer. There isn't a one or two click way to cancel everything in scheduled.

A citibank account in the US and a Citi NRI / NRE account in India (with an operating mandate given to your relo's in India to operate the account locally) might meet your needs.

Have this all set up, but they also don't have an option to make it automated.

this would seem attractive for many tourists who would get a much more authentic experience.. but removing flights is one of the last nails in the coffin IMHO..:td:

If you want authentic there is a 16 hour boat ride available in first class bunks for about 3800 one way.

Just looking to book a DEL-CMB flight in J. I have

DEL CMB UL nonstop for 28k
DEL MAA CMB or DEL BOM CMB on 9W for 28k
DEL MAA CMB on AI for 23k

So I am leaning towards AI! Best website to book? aI.com? Any promo codes I can use?

Thanks!

PVDtoDEL Jan 20, 2013 11:38 pm

AI.com gives a web-booking discount which OTAs can't match. However, OTAs may have promos running - no promo codes on AI.in that I can think of.

All other factors equal, booking directly with the airline is usually the best option. It simplifies everything in the case of IRROPS, schedule changes, refunds, etc.

Thanks PVDtoDEL.

I see the DEL MAA morning flight still shows Dreamliner on AI.com. Any idea what is operating this?

DEL-MAA/BLR is 332
DEL-CCU/DXB is 744
DEL-FRA-CDG-DEL operating as 77W service.

The battery problems which the 787 are facing are pretty serious - looks like they'll be grounded for a while.

Ahh thanks! Do the 332s have long haul / lie flat-ish J seats?

nope.

SpeedFreak Jan 21, 2013 12:52 am

It's mix and match on Bom -sin-Bom. Today was the 332, tomorrow is the 744. So you really don't know what aircraft it's gonna be till the last minute.
