THanks all! I was considering Trident in UDR. It seems nice. Would have been interesting to get HHonors points.
Anyways, now I am wondering if I should wait till the weather cools off.

(Wanted to take my mom for 2 or 3 days there...both of us have not been to that area).

Airline Flight Routing Question

Hi ppl, just a general question I was having a look at flightradar and just got me thinking, do airlines deliberately make their routes to directly fly over major airports enroute ? that act as a safety check point/communication points that all is well? As for instance I came across QR30 DOH-MEL 12/06/11, enroute from DOH it flew directly over CMB and I suppose it would have overflown South Indian mainland, as Great Circle Mapper shows the flight path in a direction South West of CMB and missing Indian mainland .
http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=DOH-MEl

I haven't factored in headwinds etc/weather conditions maybe this was once off, I am just curious and want to find out more.

Cheers^

Many occasions they try to reduce the over-water time.

i needed a bit of help here. on saturday, in the entire mess while leaving new york, the airline forgot to take back my I94. I will be back on the US on saturday again. I am on a J1 visa, and it is valid till october (with all other documentation in order). Now, my host organization says that sometimes while leaving the US on a J1, they might not take back your I-94 and it is perfectly fine. But I am not so sure myself. (I am pretty sure the airlines might not be aware of this rule and I might be denied at check-in itself) Trying to contact the embassy gave me a number which hits voice mail, so I do not have an official answer. Anyone with any experience with this situation?

After a long time, I finally watched an Indian movie - 3 idiots. I had lost interest in indian movies since the theme became quite boring. Most seemed to be Romeo & Juliet stories. Boy meets girl, parents object, they elope.

Finally something against the grain. Or has there been many other good movies lately that I have missed out. Any recomendations?

Strangely it was an Nigerian colleague who made me think about seeing it. He seems to be in his 50's and recently asked me if I watch Indian movies. He began to tell me all his favorite stars most of whom I have not even heard of. He says Indian movies are quite popular in Africa and that he was addicted to them since his youth back in Nigeria.

So a few weekends ago when I saw this movie in a Redbox kiosk for $1, I thot of seeing it. Quite surprised to see an Indian movie at an American kiosk, so I figured it must be good. From what I hear Aamir Khan seems to do only one movie/year and that they have been good.

Not smaller but its like what I would drink a soft drink from at home in. Like a normal glass which makes the champagne look rather dull. Also I felt with holding the glass quite often it made the drink warmer rather quickly.

I think that's the last movie that I saw too. Although they are quite decent now, not the usual hero vs villain stories. But they still haven't figured out a way to keep them under 2hrs!!

I still have quite a laugh when my mum is over and she puts on those Indian serials! Man the mother in law's with their white Indira Gandhi type streaks of hair are vicious. Its always the poor daughter in laws that get the backlash.

Yes, that is a nuisance. 3 idiots just seemed to go on and on. I have never looked at the clock while watching a good movie, except for this.
