DEL BOM J seats ( lie flat) , food and service ?

With US Air Dividend miles folding into AA ( OW) next week, have to decide whether to try this .....
Thanks

How are you able to redeem US miles on *A? I thought they stopped that a year back?

AI 126/ 127 DEL-ORD originates / ends at HYD. For BOM, you can swap planes at DEL onto AI101 / 102.

Both are operated by B777 and have 35 J class flat beds in 2-3-2 config.

I have not flown AI for ages. Still hear IRROPS horror stories.

has the service improved since it joined Star ?

GuyFromBOM Mar 19, 2015 7:50 pm

Yes the service levels have improved..

Good F&B (atleast Indian cusine), nice hard product and the convinience of seamless transit at DEL. Keep these 3 points as a priority and you should be fine. ;)

No F. Its just the normal domestic J seats. Similar to the domestic First seats you have in USA.

No F on 737, J is also a hit and miss based on what planes they use. Jet seems to have tons of different configs on its fleet so makes it a guessing game.

9W operates B737 to / from BKK and SIN.. Same goes for Gulf routes. No F on the B737. J is same as domestic J class.

Why not pick AI instead, they ply B787 to / from BKK and SIN. Also a few selective Gulf routes are operated by B747, B777 and B787.

Good suggestion.
However I amm using OW (AA) miles, trying to make Bali a stopover onto BOM, spend a few weeks and back to ORD.

MH Does DOH DPS via KUL. A bit hesitant to go that route !

IMO, MH is a perfectly safe airline impacted by unfortunate events, beyond its control.

Given that, they have been pricing very attractive fares so as to win back faith. Rather than a redemption on MH, I would compare the fares and maybe fly revenue booking with them to get nice bunch of miles.

An alternate, could be Air Asia and other asian LCC.

AA doesn't allow stopovers.

Junior pilots highly stressed, financially overburdened, AI pilots' body warns

The AI spokesman said: "The two had an argument. They have settled the issue."

According to senior AI commanders, the co-pilot in question has reportedly faced similar charges in the past too. "Three years back, he asked the commander of a flight to come out of the cockpit, remove the stars on his shirt collar (appulates) and then fought with him. A year later, another commander complained about his 'rude and unbecoming' behavior in the cockpit and questioned his state of mind," said a senior commander.

"AI and DGCA should examine this latest problem in the cockpit. If the complaints about the said co-pilot's behavior are found true, then in the interest of aviation safety the authorities must act," said a pilot

Neither DGCA chief M Sathiyavathy, nor her deputies could be reached for comments.

If this is true is it one more reason not to try AI again after a long abstentation ? This co pilot if the reports are true, must know somebody ! Just think he will be a commander one day :td:
