Was just wondering if anyone was heading to BOM (or even LHR) from the US in the next week or so - my wife is in coma and I am trying to supplement her feeds with her normal vitamins. Thanks!

Sorry to hear about that.

In MAA, on International side, which lounge will be better for quick use? Maharaja lounge or TFS lounge? I have access to both through credit card, and I have about 2 hours.

OK.. let me answer these myself as I experienced both lounges.

Currently International terminal in MAA is still kind of a WIP. Only one lounge is located in new terminal building (honours the Priority pass).

Maharaja lounge located in old part of international terminal near gate 15 is small, old and outlandish. It can get bit crowded between 8 pm and 3 pm. Food is pathetic to say the least. I felt sick after trying a spoon of some "Idly upuma". Staff were unattentive as live cricket was being showed on LCD. They do not have their own WiFi.

TFS lounge still located in old terminal near gate 16 is equally old, but bit better in staff attitude and choice of food. No alcohol here. I was informed that they will be moving to new terminal soon.

I didn't get to try Royal lounge which is maintained by Le Meridian (I think).

I have used the Le Meridien lounge a few times. They used to accept priority pass not sure if they still do. It is the best lounge (in my opinion) in MAA airport as I have tried other lounges but end up going back to Le Meridien. Small but well maintained facility, attentive service and some good food choices. They do serve alcohol and have good wifi. If you want to take a guest, you may be better off asking for their cash rate, as I found that was way cheaper than paying the priority pass guest charges

Looks like the USD-INR rate has been at around 60 for some time now. Is that the new normal? Set up a fixed deposit for five years at 10% and hope the rates does not change much.

The FD seems to be in INR considering the int rate u mentioned..
In 5 years, I am sure the USD-INR rate would be more than 60.. i could fanthom even 70 considering the interest rate & inflation differential between India and US..
Otherwise everyone could do interest rate arbitrage ;)

There is a no fee early termination clause, so I might rethink.

In India, there is usually never a fee for early termination.. BUT you are penalized by the interest rate given which is usually ~ 1% less than the prevailing rate at that time for the duration its been with the bank..

Business Visa for Argentina

Any one has experience with Getting a Business Visa for Argentina.

Need to make a short trip, around 5 days, Intra Company Visit for meetings.

The website has info, but the process seems to be complex, requiring all Docs translated to Spanish, Notarized and a letter from Chamber of Commerce etc.

Any Prior experience / Pointers will be helpful.

advice

If one has to catch AY flight out of DEL at 10:30 AM but is in BOM previous day,

q1: even first flight out of BOM will be risky on separate ticket, correct?

q2: does AI still run those middle of night flights (couldn't figure out from their website and search engines don't show it - so most likely answer is no but just checking here)

q3: any hope of doing through checkin with 9W to AY from BOM all the way to HEL? (in which case I can clear security and go to lounge or sleeping pod)

q4: in absence of above, what would you recommend the best option (this is personal travel - not on business expense) about spending night

Let me know if I should post this in main forum rather than chai stall
(have a feeling that same persons are going to end up answering questions anyway :))

TIA
